Taitec Exhaust Silencers...These are supposed to

decrease the exhaust note volume by about 20%. Does anyone know if these adversely affect the hp/torque as well?

I use them,and they do cut the noise volume.Subjectively I feel a little less accel in the higher rpm range but I did use them at the track,no problems and no significant degredation in times.

Hey I made my own and I loose no hp from them. They basicaly turn my tips to resonated tips. They are 2" header collectors that I drilled and wraped in soundeading insolation and inserted into the tips. Made a big difference and gave me a deeper tone.

when you put in silencers you restrict the flow of exhuast. Yes you lose top end power, but you should feel more low end torque.

That is my sloppy work. Since it cant be seen I didnt do a real neat and clean job. It was quick and dirty. They will eventually get covered by carbon soot and turn black and you wont see them.

What is holding them in, in the picture I don't see any bolts?

no bolts. I used an 1" smear of silicone on the sides and on the top. It holds them in like a champ. If I want to pull them out, A good tug and they come out. There is no way they will fall out.
