TCS button doesn't work

Hi Guys

Was at the air care centre (same as the smog test, just call it differently in Canada) and in order to do the test, they'll have to put the rear wheels over a dyno looking thing and drive the car through different revs and speeds and gears. In order to do that, they'll have to turn off the TCS. Weirdly, the TCS button doesn't work, it doesn't disable the TCS. I have no idea whether or not the TCS works all together in my car because I have never pushed it hard enough for it to turn on (or at least I haven't noticed whether or not it has interfered with my driving). How will i be able to check? Thanks!

Does it feel like its stuck like it doesn't want to click? If so that just happened to me.

What happens is the board on inside backs out. You will have to remove bezel to access back of switch. Then pop board back into switch and hot glue or crazy glue so it won't pop back out.

Pull the parking brake up a couple of clicks until the BRAKE light comes on the dash, drive above 6mph until the ABS light comes on (about 30 sec.), the TCS may turn off with the ABS but not sure

what year, on the older ones I agree the back cover pops out due to Heat and age of the plastic.

when the back pops off and you press the TCS
the button pushes the curcuit board out the back and doesnt let it make the CLICK of the switch

so your never really enabling it of disabling it.

Comtec is correct..

If you want to quickly remove the TCS from the system with no lights, just unplug it from behind the drivers seat panel. Put the panels back on and get tested. you can just plug everything back up. No error lights

And fix your button later

Is your car stock?

When I installed my AEM EMS we disabled the TCS to use the traction control built into the new ECU...you can also check to see it the TCS brain is disconnected behind the drivers seat.

My Car is a 94 and is Stock. The TCS light does turn on when i start up my car. However, it doesn't seem like the button is getting stuck. But i'll take the bezel and check the back board to see whether or not it is in the right place. It does make a click though when i press it. hmmmm i'll check it out tonight =D

Bad bulb.

dont think so, cause on the dyne machine thing the TCS was never off, it was on so it kicked in everytime the smog testor guy steped on the gas. Pretty sure the TCS is actually ok and in check, just that the button is not disabling it.

What he ^ said. If not there is fuse in the engine bay, just pull it and it disables it.

My bad, I misread the post and thought you said the bulb did not turn on when you first fired up the car.
