hey guys,
i was hoping to get some help. i recently asked regarding the fitment issues of my friends is300 wheels onto an nsx. the good news is, it fits. the bad news, the tires that came on the rims from his car is setting off the TCS light.

the car wouldnt accelerate forward, so i just simply shut off the TCS mode. i was wondering if driving with wheels like this can possibly damage the vehicle in anyway? and if not, is there any way to permantly shut off the TCS mode, without having to re-push the button each and every time i start up the car? thanks....
:D

That is what Luds FAQ says:

[KJ] To disable the TCS, all you have to do is pull both connectors off the TCS computer. This disables all the TCS lights, so they won't_ light up even when you initially turn on the ignition. That way, you won't burn out your dash warning lights or be distracted by bright dash lights at night. All other ways of disabling the TCS, and there are many, leave at least one of these lights illuminated. To restore TCS capability, just plug the connectors back in.

The TCS computer is behind the trim panel under the rear window, at the car's extreme left, behind the driver's left shoulder. Pull the top of the trim panel forward, then up. You will also need to pull the top of the square panel forward to get enough space to pull the lower connector off.

What do we learn? It's always worth a try to look in the FAQ...

While driving with TCS disabled may not permanently damage the car, I wouldn't recommend using tire sizes that are so different from stock that they set off the TCS. The handling of the NSX is set up for the stock size tires, and if you make one end much bigger without making the other end bigger, it could cause handling problems.

I also wonder whether IS300 wheels would have the different center bore (center hole size) front vs rear that the NSX requires. You may want to read the Wheel Tech section of the FAQ, where it talks about hubcentric rings.

I would not recommend using these wheels and tires on an NSX without hearing more about them. What sizes are the tires?
