Have been checking out a '98 NSX as a possible buy but it does have a few issues and am wondering about the following problems:
-quite a lot of moisture/condensation in the taillights and center panel, is it difficult to remidy, new parts needed?
-crack on the stereo when changing the volume, is this just the volume knob beiing dirty inside, or is this the dreaded speaker amplifier problem, if so, cost to repair?

Any info appreciated...

The taillights are prone to moisture/condensation. You could try and retighten the lamps, as the screws become a little loose over time. You may just need to replace the foam-backing, as it wears out, and moisture more easily sets in.

Assuming you mean "crackle" ;) , it is indeed the speaker amplifier problem, but it's hardly "dreaded". It's easy (and inexpensive) to fix; just send the amps to BrianK.

I'm proud to say that I've had both audio problems. Brian K did a superb job in fixing the amp. The crackle when turning the volume knob disappered after I sprayed some electrical contact cleaner behind the knob. Although it continued to crackle for awhile after the spray job, it eventually diappeared with use ( this was a used unit which sat in a garage for quite some time).
