The worst movi?e I've ever seen. I will gladly trade the car for a roll of duct tape to cover my eyes and ears to avoid seeing again one of the worst movies of the century. I've even smashed my TV in hopes of missing advertisements for the move. I've increased my spam filter to shutdown and burn my computer if it finds anything with the word "Movi?e" in it or "Happe?ing" to avoid relapses of this horrible film. Please folks heed my warning and avoid seeing any more movies this year as there could be the rare chance the film is shown when you wanted to watch something else. If you really need to go then obtain in writing from the Theater manager that the film you are seeing is not the Happ?ening. Well guys I'm headed off to the doctors to have some memory nuerons removed wish me luck!

Worse than the village? That was a cataclysmic failure of a movie. Every time me and the girlfriend/friend leave a bad movie or more regularly finish watching one we downloaded, it endes with 'at least it wasn't as bad as the village'.

I think he got lucky with The Sixth Sense and that the expectations of some huge "twist" is hurting every subsequent release. Shyamalan ranks way down there with George Lucas - guys who really need to get over themselves, quit writing their own screenplays and just direct.

I haven't seen freedom land. That's a corny name though. I doubt that movie is worse as it did get higher metacritic ratings. This is worse then the village. That was just a bad movie, this was hard to call a film. I agree he should just stick to directing although even the directing was bad on this one. It looks like the studios just gave him the keys to the film lot, said go for it and never looked back. "Gee thanks dad I'm gona make the bestest film ever, I'll be back before 10!". Since he wrote the film I'm sure he stopped anyone from rewriting it as typically happens with screenplays. I know they screen test movies but this had to skip that process because of the big names and insane product placement.

I just went and watched the movie trailer to find out what you're talking about. Alls I know is that I got dragged off by the GF to watch Sex and the City, and I can tell you right now I'd rather watch The Happening 10 times before seeing a minute of that POS again. There were times I thought I might LOSE IT.
 Aaaaaaahhhhh!

When they advertise a movie his first "R" rated feature. You know they are reaching. Hmmm can't say anything good about the movie...errr lets market it via the rating. What next? "For the first time in this person's history, a title with the letter "R" on it!!!"

Lets face it M Night Shamlyn...or however you spell it so far has been a one hit wonder. All his other flicks since The 6th Sense have been so-so at best. Just so happens that one hit equated to multiple movie contracts no matter how weak. Good for him, bad for us.

Did'nt he direct Lady in the water,,or doodoo floating in the pool as I like to call it? I mean the plethera of lower budget Stephen King flicks are at least as good.
