Hey... I'm looking into a used nsx which supposedly have a bad ccu. He has the symptoms of only high fan speed however the owner also states that a/c doesn't work because of the ccu. I know the car has been in an accident towards the front driverside and I'm curious to see if a/c function is related to ccu or not..

A bad ccu, would it still have the function of temp setting?

Hard to say but something like the AC system is complex and could be something simple or expensive and involved. Me personally I would feel more at ease if the system was working and if not maybe you can have someone more experienced take a look at it.

There's an A/C condensor and fan just ahead of each front wheel. If there has been an accident, it may have damaged the condensor or the fan. It's not uncommon for the fans to quit after some time and if the passenger fan had previously quit .. and then the driver side was damaged, there'd be no working condensor. With the car on and a/c running, you can usually hear the fans running on either side. If neither comes on, that could be your problem. You also should check the fuses for the fans .. either or both could be blown.

Normally the fan only runs on high problem does not stop the ac from working.

I had the opposite problem which is that the AC would always come on regardless of setting.

You had repaired my CCU over the winter, and I finally was able to test it yesterday. So far, it seems to be working correctly, so there must be some relation to AC control.
