The World Most Expensive Lemon winner goes to....

YIKES! Wow, so does that come with the warranty under the lemon law, you can return it no questions asked:biggrin:  ?

NRG, whatever came of your NSX? I'm curious to see the beast' project pics. I remember you said you had a lot getting ready to be done to it...so...Hope all is well so far.

hahaha...wrong NRG. My beast is a kitten only....in comparison to the majority of others.

I wonder if the dealiership is willing to accept 100K for that scrap metal? I'll buy the metal and leave it in the garage for decoration LOL.

I think it said 1 of 5 made...and the car is only 2 years old from what I read, you would think that MBZ would take excellent care of the owners and or dealers, especially with this exclusivity.......

Jup my mistake! The CLK-GTR Roadster was only produced 5 times. CLK-GTR 25. The car was produced from 1998-1999 so.. he bought it 2004.

Well, the obvious solution is.... Put a hemi in it!

Maybe check the oil on a car you just got?

Way to be a moron with your 2 million dollar car. If a McLaren F1 rolled off the trailer onto my driveway, I'd make sure it had coolant/oil in it before I fired it up.

How do you know it was because they forgot to check the oil? Thats not what I got from the article. It simply said the "oil light came on" not "it was out of oil". Their rather vague comment could mean alot of things.

Also: Additionally, according to Johnston, the car's transmission failed to shift properly, the hydraulic jack system failed and the car's window's came unglued. Mercedes ultimately determined that the car suffered from an oil pressure-related engine failure, the plaintiffs allege, but refused to make any repairs.

I dont see the reason for calling anyone a moron except for Mercedes Benz.

Because a high performance car broke down and had to be towed? I don't get it, why do you think they need to fix an eight year old car? Because it's more expensive and exclusive than an e-series?

I'm 100% sure they'd take a look and possibly repair it if he ships it over to the factory it was produced in. What's that arrogance MB has to come over and fix the car ASAP, of course priceless, all about. It's his car and he broke it so he has to take care of how to fix it not the manufacturer.

And if he's a that experienced exotic car dealer he claims to be why didn't he check everything before firing it up and driving it around. It's no Ford, you can't run it with too little oil in it or whatever caused the breakdown.

Well as Ryan said in the post above yours, nobody here knows both sides to the story, so at this point all we can do is speculate.

Ok forget the last then passage then.
We can speculate about how it broke down, fact is that just another luridness article that bashs on MB because they got some reliability problems right now, or the press claims they got, I don't drive a MB. I still don't think it's MBs problem that one of their cars made eight years ago broke down.

While everyone on here is busy taking shots at the owner and Mercedes, has anyone at all considered that they have a deal with Mercedes where the car was supposed to be under warranty?? Did anyone at all catch this reference:

"We've been trying to get it fixed ever since, but the Mercedes folks have refused to stand behind the car as promised in our contract."

It is possible that Mercedes is supposed to stand behind the car if they have a contract stating as such. I caution anyone to get 'Internet comfort' and take blindside shots without being informed.

You got to it before me. But yeah, the contract could be for 10,000 miles/10 years or something like that. Who knows....

Or they could be talking out their ass like a lot of people tend to do when expensive stuff breaks. Who knows?

My opinion?

They were driving a non-legal car on public roads. So does a racecar come with a warranty? Shouldn't it be voided for taking a track car out on the street; after all, a CRV's warranty is toast if you take it off-road...
