Alright, I'm about to make a broad generalization here (ie white men can't jump or all chinese people are good at math), but I'd like to think most of the NSX owners got to where we are today via some form of monetary success, which may have involved 1) good negotiation skills, 2) aggressiveness, 3) timing, 4) hard work, and 5) stupid dumb luck. That said, I want to know if the aforementioned factors had anything to do with some of the best deals people got on their NSX's. I'll start with mine.

* Negotiate 10 months for my car.
* Paid $41K last year for a 1998 NSX-T Berlina Black w/ 21K miles.

I could probably sell it today (27K miles), for the same amount I paid for it! Schweet.

I think I got a really good deal on mine....
91 5spd....29K on it for $30.5K, plus had previous owner have a new timing belt/water pump done. This was his asking price, which obviously was good, but I got him to add in the timingbelt service, just cause i was worried about a 15 year old timing belt.
This was just under a couple months ago. I would bet I could turn around easy and make money on the car. But after 6 years of lusting after it, it will be a long time from now til I let it go.
Also, the car looks like it is brand new, even still smells like new inside.

Well, I thought I got a great deal until I saw this thread http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71874, I would love to fill my 3 car garage w/ 3 Sebring Silvers if I could, love the color! Nonetheless, I'm still pleased w/ my purchase: 1991 Sebring Silver w/ less than 70K miles when I bought it in March. Exterior & interior mint except cosmetic damage to front & rear bumper covers which I had repaired for $400. Mods included w/ sale were: HIDs, Alpine CD, Pioneer speakers, V1 prewired, titanium shift knob, Dali CF console, Tien RAs, DC Sports headers, Dali dual canister exhaust, JDM short gears, Dali slotted rotors, stainless brake lines, Cobalt Friction pads, CT sway bars, Dali high capacity oil pan, Dali coolant tank, Dali fuse box cover. All services up to date (timing belt & h20 pump), all books & records, titanium key. All of this for $26,500.

1995, 61,000 miles, no maint records, needed 60k tune up, timing belt & water pump, rims, small dents in front fenders and hood $30,500.

In hindsight probably not the best deal, but I figured I would replace the hood & fenders when I get around to going wide body.

I think I got a good a pretty good deal. I bought my 1994 NSX with 6,100miles on the odo in 2000 for under 35k. It helps to have family in the auction biz!!!!

I know of someone who got a 96 T w/24K on the clock, clean title, black and no damages for $15K. Yeah, clean title. Lucky fool worked at Genetech so if you are on this board, I know how much you got that for!

1991 NSX, 62,000 miles, great shape, just needed valve job...$21,500
clean title...
retired air force colonel wanted to get rid of small car and speed...said his days were over.

How about $0 in depreciation over 8 years???

In 1998 my father paid $30k for an immaculate 1991 red/black with 30k miles. Today, with 43k miles, NADA says the retail value is $30,420 (mods excluded).

How about free???

After 8 years of ownership and adding a couple mods (including CTSC) he recently gave it to me. (Still in perfect condition.)

I also recall reading an NSX Driver article about someone who won their NSX in a high-stakes poker game.

Nice.

Bought my 91 black/black 5speed 73k new $3,500. wheels/rims,Comptech Exhaust, Comptech powergrip II clutch,New intake ,etc... for $21,000 4 years ago...

P.S. The owner actually cried as I backed out of his driveway!

Got an okay deal two years ago. 91 with 95k miles, timing belt & water pump done at 89K miles. Comptech headers and exhaust, Type R short gears, 4.55 R&P. $24,500.

my first NSX I drove around for two years then sold it for $2500 more then I paid for it:cool: ..sure I put rims on it and some maint....but talk about driving around in a sweet looking savings account...

BTW, I think everyone on here got a good deal...driving your dream car is worth every penny:smile:

Damn, the 96 NSX-T for $15K takes it! That is a sick deal!
Sounds like an urban legend.

There's someone on this list that bought his for $15K... He bought my OEM 7 spokes and drove up from NJ to pick them up. I don't recall what year it was though (if you search though, he's the guy who was keyed recently while parked in front of Starbuck's).

92, 84k miles, toasted clutch, clear title....$23k!

Previous owner was moving to Vegas and the car had a bad clutch, he didn't want to mess with fixing it before he moved and just wanted to dump it. Previous owner is also a good friend of mine. Car had crossed drilled rotors, springs, wheels on it already when I bought it.

Added a nice stablemate to the Supra :D

Well I purchased my 92 in 98 with 90K for 26,000. (It was in excellent cond.) Since my company paid me a 500 per month car allowance, it was paid for by them in less than 5 years.....So I guess I'd say FREE.

Maybe I should be posting in the high miles thread.....I have 170,000 mile now and she runs Perrrrfect:smile:

This doesn't make any sense because the seller would be an NSX owner or dealer as well.

In 2002, purchased our first NSX, a '95 w/ 40k miles, for $32,000. When I totalled the car in 2004, I actually got around $41,000 from the insurance company.

I sold mine for 5k more than I paid and I owned the car for almost 4 years. The nsx is a good investment, at least it was for me.

well not got hold of mine yet but paid £40k for it but itis the trail demo car with lots done and clean
think i got a pritty good deal been told should able to sell it for about £45k but its going to be my day to day drive
thx amo
