Im thinking of removing my a/c, right now i dont even use it i have it unplugged. I want to know how much weight would i save if i removed all of the a/c components? Would it even make a difference?
You're in Miami.... and you don't have a/c?![]()
Unless you track your car..... not worth it. The advantage of removing, besides weight is being able to use the space where the condensers are to route big ass air ducts to the front rotors or intercooler for a turbo.
Well over 200 lb. of stuff, if you remove the compressor motor, lines, dryer, expansion radiator in blower, front condenser with fans and brackets...
When you are done, like Jim said, great place to route brake ducts in the front and the compressor location would be a good place to mount a dry sump scavenging pump.
To survive in Miami w/o an a/c you just have to drive when the suns starting to go down like at 5pm-6pm. Its not that humid here, so its not as bad, but summer time you CANNOT drive while the sun is out you WILL die.Wow... over 200 lbs. ????![]()
But how can you survive Miami w/o a/c.... that's nuts.![]()
I live in Cincinnati and my old airport car (89 Integra) had the a/c crap out and I spent one summer without and just going back and forth to the airport (20 miles) twice a week almost killed me.

Is there another Miami, Florida that I dont know of?

The a/c works i just unplugged it because i would notice that cold air would come out of the vents while driving so i just unplugged it, havent used it in over a year...
Dude... that's what a/c does, it makes cold air come out of the vents!
If you want to save 200 lbs then stop dating fat chicks...
Canceling the A/C is no way 200 lbs. 43 lbs is more appropriate.

What does just the compressor weigh? I see lots of guesses, but has anyone weighed one?
