After renewing my NSXCA dues (sorry..I lapsed, I am a tool) I was thinking about how the first NSX meet I ever saw was right here in my home town of Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was a small meet (probably 6 or 8 cars) at Fort Wayne Acura (where I worked during high school) and I only stayed a while because I had a soccer game in Indy that day. I made one of the techs take pictures for me, and was bummed to have missed the rest of it.

What this all means to you is that now that I have NSX's of my own, I was thinking of reviving this meet as a sort of 'reunion' and celebration of the first ever Midwest NSX Meet that took place here. Would you guys be interested in this? Let me know your ideas and I will try and form a plan.

Need to know:

1.) Preferred time of the year.
2.) 1 or 2 day event.
3.) Activities you would like.
4.) How willing would you be to come here for the event?

If there is sufficient interest, I will call the Acura dealer and see what is what. Let me know guys and gals! :D

The NSX Club of America is already planning a big two-day event in South Bend for April 3-4. It will include an autocross, go karting, a fabulous banquet, and door prizes - including a unique, no-longer-available NSX memorabilia item.

We're also going to have a big caravan of folks from Chicago/Milwaukee driving across Northern Indiana in early October, on our way to NSXPO 2004.

fort wayne is an ideal meeting place. it is less than 3 hours from several major metropolitan areas.

i tried setting up a meet there last autumn but ran into scheduling issues.

don't let the south bend event deter you from putting something together. i'd be interested in attending both.

some suggestions... start in fort wayne saturday morning, end in western michigan on sunday. look at cgi's schedule for gingerman. if you can organize it for the weekend before a cgi monday event you might get more participants.

I know...I was just trying to make this region a little more active with events. Some of the other regions seem to have events all the time. You can never have too much of the NSX. :D

What time of year would you think best?

Is there any way I can post this on the big general NSX forum?? It seems to be a low traffic area on here. :(

Anyone home here?? :(

Mitch, I live in Indy and always check this forum. I'm actively (or obsessively according to the wife) looking for a car. So you can tentatively count me in. I know this doesn't really help your planning but I thought you would like to know people are 'out here':)

I'm sorry, but I can't seem to find anything regarding Sout Bend on NSXCA.org. I dont even see a section dedicated to the Midwest. Can a blind man recieve a walking cane please?

Details are still being worked out. Once they are - hopefully, in the next week or two - an e-mail will be sent to all club members in the Midwest Region, and an announcement will be posted in this forum on NSXprime.
