Thinking of switching to 265's in the rear

Currently, this is my set up:

18x8 front with 225/35/18
19x10 rear with 275/30/19

My rears wore out really fast due to the drop. I had planned to flip the tires, but I didn't notice it in time and one is showing thread, so I'm just going to replace them. Now, I was thinking of going with the 265/30/19's. I'm also planning on switching the fronts to 215/35/18's if they ever decide to wear out. :p

1) Would that throw off TCS?(I don't think so, but I can't recall anyone else running these sizes.)
2) Will 265's fit ok on a 10 inch rim?(I don't mind the slighty stretched look.)
Any opinions/info is welcome

Probably not, but it's possible, if your car is a '91-93. The reason is that the front size you are using is 4.9 percent larger in outside diameter than '91-93 stock, so going from a rear that is 2.6 percent larger to one that is 1.6 percent larger is not going to help - particularly as the rear wears down. If your car is a '94-01 it will probably be fine.

Once you switch to 215/35-18 in front, you shouldn't have any problems.

You'll have to check the spec sheet for the model of tire you are using, to see what the acceptable rim widths are.

Thanks everyone for your replies! I may just order all 4, 215f/265r. I'll check the tires spec sheet to see if they recommend the 265 being on a 10 inch rim first thou.
Thanks again

Well, my reasons are simple.

1) $$$ The 265/30/19's cost a lot less than the 275/30/19's in the tire that I'm using for some reason.
2) I like the slightly stretched look.
3) I want to see if there is any noticable performance difference.(thou it's not my main concern)

My car's rear camber is eatting up my back tires pretty quick. I thought I'd try the 265's and see how they look/feel. In the next few months, I'll probably need some new rears again. So if I'm not happy, I'll switch back to 275's. Just thought I'd get some input before I spend another $400. :)

Z,

Thanks for the response. For the tires I use, it is only a $10 difference between the 265 and 275. I did not realize there could be a very large difference in price between the two. Apparently there is though. I only have 18s in the rear though so I do not have as expensive tires :D.

Yeah, 19's start getting expensive!!!

btw, here's a picture of Chris@SOS's car. I like the way tire fits the rim.
