need 2 replace my tires. Can anyone recomend a set of tires for weekend track use and a daily drive in the summer. Never drive in the rain.

tire size are 215/35/18
275/30/19

Any help would be appreciated.

Peter

The Dunlop Direzza DZ101 is a "budget performance tire", a summer tire designed for those who are primarily looking for an inexpensive tire. If that's the kind of tire you're looking for, the Kumho SPT costs less than the DZ101 and has better performance, too.

Right now, I don't think any of the top-of-the-line summer tires are available in those sizes (which are the best 18"/19" sizes for the NSX).

Peter - if you are NEVER in the rain, I would hunt down some remaining RA1 inventory. You will get them cheap and they will be better than any "street" tire you will find. I picked up a set from Tirecraft a few weeks ago at a great price. Barring that, Id be looking around at DOT approved R Compounds, or the near R compound high silica tires.

If you are NEVER in the rain, you've probably had enough time on track to make the move to real rubber.

Just make sure that once the tread is worn down (65% or so left), that you're NEVER caught away from home in the rain. The stuff that happens on the drive home will give you nightmares for months.

Due to my odd sizes, I don't seem to have very much choices. When I have 225/35/18 it just keep rubbing my fender, to the point where my plastic inner lining need to be replace. So i have to stick with 215/35/18.

Hey Dave, any place you can recomend for me to source out some street/track tires.

Thanks

Peter

try 1010tires.com
i got a set of 215/35/18 275/30/19 Toyo T1R from them last week
they are better then the dunlop, but i wouldn't suggest using these for track!
get a set of 17/18 beater wheels for the track, so you can use RA1 on it, way better preformance and save the 18/19 setup for street only!

I would not suggest using the RA-1 on the street for daily driving. They just wear too quickly for that to make any sense. Leave the track tires to the track, and street tires to the street.
