tire spacers

I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Are you talking about hubcentric rings - used when the center bore (center hole) of the wheel is larger than the hub it sits on? These rings fit inside the wheel so that the hole is smaller and mates nicely with the hub.

Or are you talking about wheel spacers - used to push the wheels out away from the hub? These can include the type shown on the SoS website in the above link, which include new studs, or can be as simple as the flat metal rings shown here.

Neither has anything to do with tires...

it is the actual spacer when they put the spacers on my new rims to make them fit over the caliper it sticks out past the center hub so no matter how tight you lock down the lug nuts the spacer is still going to move ever so slightly causing the out of balance wobble in the steering wheel........they are having some made but i thought there was somewhere they might be able to pick them up without having to have them made..........being that my math skill suck im not sure on the millimeter but i know they are quarter inch thick......i never did well in metric class as a child..............the rim doesnt have that little lip to catch on,,,on the center hub....it is very hard to explain but very easy to show....i told them to check with i think it is H&R or HR .......but have not gotten a response yet .........thanks for the replys though.

Those are "hubcentric rings", so don't call them "spacers". And, for the most part, they usually have to be custom-made for your particular wheels and car. So no, you can't just pick them up somewhere.

well im sorry i don't know jack about wheels so when the tire guy says hubcentric spacers i just say what he says.......but that is probably why he said he had to have them made but thanks for the education............so now can you teach me to spell punctuate and capitalize.......:D :D :D :D :D but seriously thanks for the help...

I actually think he was referring to spacers, not rings.

If you refer to his second post, he remarks about offsetting his wheels to clear the calipers, which would be spacers.

Many people do have simple flat metal "washers" with single or multiple bolt patterns, but a large open center. That would make it easy to not center the wheel if the lug nuts are not tightened with the tire off the ground.

I think the H&R spacers are exactly what you need, Bacon.

Bacon:

Are you talking about hubcentric rings, as shown in the following two pictures? They fit inside the hub of wheels that are not specifically made for the nsx to insure centering on the vehicle hub.

Or are you asking about spacers (pictured below)? They fit over the existing lugs and around the hub of the car to essentially change the offset of the wheels - pushing the wheel out further towards the fender lip and giving more brake caliper clearance.

no it is definetly the spacer, there is a ring also but the ring does no good because the spacer completely voids that lip in the center that keeps the rim centered so they are making me a spacer that has that lip so my rims will stay hubcentric and still clear my caliper.........it has really been a pain in the rear and if i knew i was going to need spacers before i bought the rims i would have chosen something else........but the guys at the rim place told my tire guys that they had applied the rims to nsx's before and that they would fit.............they were wrong.....and although my tire guys are great and are doing what they can i am about to throw my stock rims back on until they get these things made....i am sick of the steering wheel rattling my hands.....

I had to do the same thing. I didn’t like the idea of using a big aluminum spacer plus an additional plastic ring to align the spacer with the wheel, so I had custom spacers made. The custom spacers make an all-metal transition from the 69mm rear hub to the 73mm wheels I have. I needed to use 31mm thick spacers to clear the Brembo calipers, so I also had to press in new studs.
