Well I am annoyed I had to change the boiler in my house so now the toy fund is a little low for new wheels. My options...

Hold out and buy a set of Advans (model tbd)
Chrome a set of 02+ wheels
Powdercoat them to a color?
Trade them for a different set of wheels.

what are the opinions of people regarding chrome stock wheels? I have seen a few NSXs with chrome stock and i think they look great.

and I thought about powdercoating them black.... I saw this picture and i will just say its not my style. Think another color would look better?

anyone have a set of wheels they want to trade for an 02+ set?

Great meeting you finally this past weekend Mike your Imola looked great. The car is so immaculate and clean. Love seeing some of the pics of our cars nose to nose.

For your car... I would consider 1 of 2 options:

Powdercoat your spare set of 02+ wheels in a medium grey/charcoal and keep the NSX-R look.

OR

Lower price on your spare set/trade for a Set of Grey/black Advans as you mentioned.

I think wheels in a slightly darker than silver color/or gunmetal on your car will really set it off and make the Imola pop that much more!!

I was actually thinking about asking you to try your set on one day to see how they would look.

as for the sale/trade for the advans thats my optimal choice. I would prefer this so no money has to change hands. Hopefully someone wants this.

Also agree it was nice to finally meet you too, as for the pics nose to nose too bad we didnt have a good shot to take better ones. that one was as i was leaving and wanted something with both of em together

No, chrome will make it look worse and take value off of your wheels. Try plastidip first if you want to experiment with a darker color.

I am not worried about the value of the wheels. I have 3 sets of 02+ wheels and was just going to use a set I received in a trade. Nice set but not perfect. I almost Plastidipped them white but was chicken..

LOL three sets. I would sell two sets off and buy some aftermarket wheels.

That works. You can try my nsx-r jacksports in the grey finish to see if you like the look as long as they're still around. There are 2 interested parties but no one has acted yet.

I would not chrome, but you could consider a goodrich permastar type coating, black chrome might be cool.

No to chrome plating, if you like that look there are several powdercoat finishes that look like chrome without the concerns of flaking / peeling over time.
Some of the Black Chromes are outstanding, I think.

I just talked to them, its actually cheaper than i thought. they also said they could strip it and it wouldnt ruin the original finish on the wheels like the chroming process would.

hmmm (the black chrome isnt bad either)

So you finally didn't buy on the advan RSII group buy? All you had to do was sell an OEM set and it would have cost you almost nothing!

What do you need 3 OEM sets for? You are reducing its value by altering the original finish.

Black wheel in photos and black wheels in person are very different. In a photo that's not taken properly it's a black blob, in person when you see the detail on a nice wheel it's great.

You know 5 years ago I said on this forum that big lips are on their way out and wheels that are concave are on their way in. That definitely turned out true for the most part, now I'll call another one. Wheels with lots of spoke material are on the way out and thinner more "open" wheels are on their way in. I saw an AMG yesterday, brand new, and it's spokes were so thin all you saw was brake and rotor. When it spun, there was no wheel. That's the next trend.

I had them for sale (or trade) and everyone wanted to offer 1000 shipped or similar. I have more money in them but would gladly make a trade or sale if someone wanted to put up the money.i am not keeping them b/c i want them. just keeping them b/c no one has bought them yet.

Well I wouldn't take much less than 2K if they are in good shape. Just wait... I've never seen OEM 02 wheels last long for sale.
