As far as entertainment, 10x more than the UFC. Pride actually put it's fighters at the center.. Not as succesfull and profitable as UFC but 10x more memorable than UFC.

15 years ago I had a chance to visit a slaughterhouse. I never ate beef again. What was done to the animals in that building was barbaric. Ungodly amounts of needless suffering imposed upon an animal that didn't have much to say about it. I've been practicing martial arts for about the same amount of time and have competed. I broke a guys nose 3 days ago. Unintentionally. No one forces you into a ring. You have a choice. The fighters are respectful of one another despite the tv drama. You practice years and want to respectfully test your skills against someone else. I apologized to the guy and felt really bad. He said "it's an accident, don't worry" and shook my hand.

I find what people do at every "meal" to be a whole lot more barbaric than competing in a ring. I'd never hurt anyone, I'm the guy that always stands up for the weak (even an animal). So what part of what I do is barbaric to you?
