unable to leave itrader feedback

I tried to leave soem itrader feedback this morning for a "vendor" but i kept receiving the message "deal url invalid" although i triple checked the URL for accuracy. I copied and pasted the URL from this site but it still will not allow me to.

I also have the same problem for the longest time. I have been selling HIDs but when I tried to leave feedbacks or the buyers tried to do the same, the URL of the sale thread keeps getting rejected.

Hmm. I do not know what the problem is offhand. I will do some research.

I do not really understand your description of the problem. You said that when buyers tried to leave feedback the URL is rejected. Yet looking at your iTrader rating, I see numerous people have left feedback for you in the last few months linking to your HID thread in the vendor forum.

And when I look at feedback you have left for others, I see feedback you have left for others within the last few months linking to your HID threads in the Vendor forum.

So can you please clarify the exact nature of the problem? Did this just start within the last month or so? Or does it only happen in some cases?

Just to rule out the possibility that for some reason it has stopped accepting the vendor forum threads as deal URLs.... Can someone confirm that they have left iTrader feedback for a vendor within the past few weeks? That will save me having to try and sort through hundreds of feedbacks. Thanks.

I left a trader rating in this thread on Tuesday and it showed up the same day.

i tried again and could not leave feedback using these threads as the reference url


perhaps it is related to the threads themselves

the forums database appeared to be down a few times (from my perspective) fairly recently

i wonder if the database or some of its records or indexes are corrupted

i actually wondered if the database was corrupted during maintenance on these threads

as i remember it (not perfect memory) several messages were deleted and these threads were locked on or about the day of the database issue

Is there a time limit that is built-in?

That is my current theory, but I checked and do not see any setting for maximum age since the thread was created for it to be used in an iTrader rating.

I will look into it some more and try to figure out what is going on and how to fix it (or at least work around it).

I had problems doing it though. It was giving me that same error message as posted above:

"There were the following errors:
The deal URL is invalid!"

I was trying to use this URL:

I tried many times with no success. So I went back and looked at some of his other ratings to find a "good" URL and I ended up using this one:

It worked fine with that URL.

It appears be to related to how long ago the thread was originally created but I can't find any related documentation or software settings. I will research it more this weekend. Even if I can't fix it directly I have figured out a work-around, so I should have some sort of resolution by early next week.

I have not been able to fix this from the software side. I will submit a request to the person who developed the iTrader system.

The workaround is: Post a message in the Buyer & Seller Experiences forum (be sure to read the rules first!) and use that URL for the iTrader rating. The system is set to accept URLs from that forum. You can either start a new thread or reply to an existing one (pick on that's not too old!). You may need to wait for your post to be approved - I haven't tested that part.
