I have a 1991 NSX with Comptech hi boost SC, Comptech headers and custom exhaust. The SC was added about 5 years ago and has been absolutely trouble free. What can I do to further improve performance? I'm thinking a six speed or revised 5 speed gears with the 4.23 axle ratio would be the best move. Are there any updates I can do to the SC? It puts out about 6 pounds boost according to my guage and uses the stock electronics. My criteria is that whatever I do must be trouble free. Thanks for any advice.

Leave well enough alone with the s/c. If it ain't broke then don't tinker with it.
Your suggestions of gears or tranny change is the safest route. IMO

If its trouble free and fun, then just leave alone would be my choice.
Guys with ctsc can chime in on short gears.
I heard gears where great direction to go after headers and exhaust on a 91 if you didn't want to go FI.
Maybe you want to get your 8-9 lbs of boost from you hi-boost set up with an aem setup.
Your belt might be slipping at boost and you can get a fix it kit for the tensioner.
More boost more air more fuel equals standalone computer to be safe so then there is tuning and extra cost for lets say the aem and maps and tuning and what not....
It would be nice to have a whole bunch of cars side by side and see where a person wanted to go.
Just like buying shoes.....
lol
good luck.

I have had a High Boost CTSc, CT headers and exaust with short gears and AEM on my 1992. I put the short gears on first then low CTSC then AEM high CTSC. I would think about doing the AEM first with a good tune because it really cleans up questions about the AFR with high boost. New engines at $10,000 a piece might be hard to stomach. Also, consider getting some gauges to determine that all is functioning well as you boost away. The short gears are certainly a nice addition for early acceleration but the AEM and tune will probably get you up to the 375hp range and you will probably not care so much as you are flying by things. Enjoy your modification journey!
