vendors perform car updates @nsxpo?

(sorry if this is such a dumb question, but...)

i have attended a couple of vehicle-specific national gatherings and each had participating vendors who performed vehicle upgrades over the course of the gathering. things like custom pinstriping, electronics, engine upgrades, etc.

for instance, i plan on attending nsxpo in portland and would be very interested in having a nice navi / ipod unit installed in my car by a vendor with recognized expertise. i would also be interested in performance and wheel upgrades.

the ability to schedule my car for multiple upgrades @ nsxpo would be great - anything like this formalized for nsxpo 2008?

thx,
hal
(who apologies in advance if this is easily uncovered via search or "shoulda known" category. :)

In the past we have had detailing done, and one vendor did do an exhaust install in the parking lot,not too practical:eek: In texas, and Wisconson we had tremendous trackside repairs being done, but that was to keep cars on the track.

There were cars gettting detailed at XPO 06 but that was about it. There were only a couple of other vendors there but I never saw anything actually getting installed in customer cars.

The fact that it hasn't been done doesn't mean you can't do it.

I would suggest discussing it with whatever vendor you're considering buying from. Maybe that vendor will be there and could do the install for you, or can recommend an installer who will be there and could do the install for you.

Whatever you do, just make any arrangements in advance (obviously)...

agreed.

actually, it smells like opportunity for vendors to me. i realize there will be some hassle in getting whatever's needed to nsxpo and establishing a working area, but i'm thinkin' that can be arranged.

overall, with such a big group of nsx's together, it seems to me like there's a pretty good opportunity to sell product and services.

I would imagine that a HID upgrade installed on-site would be very popular. Relatively low cost, easy to transport and fairly easy to install in a short period of time.

....or a side mount gun holster:tongue:

thx for the feedback, folks - nsxca / vendors, are you listening?

here's what i would pay to have installed by a well regarded prime member / vendor at nsxpo '08:

* hid kit i bought from steve a couple of years ago. i bought them to update the car, but since i never drive it at night, it's not been critical to have them installed. (btw, steve very generously offered to drive down to my house and install them on more than one occasion - now how's THAT for great support?!)

* v1 hardwired

* high quality, whammer-jammer in-dash gps / stereo / rear camera video display unit.

heck, i'd probably throw on some new / larger wheels and upgrade my tires.

thx for listening.

Are you serious that you haven't ever installed HID's from years ago?

i'm as serious as a heart attack. (no excuse, i'm such a sunday morning, daylight driving slug.)

when i made the decision to break from "all original" and install the ctsc, i also created a basic refresh / update plan for the car over the next few years. i'm sure the hid's will find their way to the car over the next few months.
