Visibility issues w/ double din?

Hey Guys
Thinking of doing an Alpine double din but am worried about visibility issues esp. w/ the sunlight we have in Cali. Currently have a flip up Alpine where I can adjust the screen (don't like the way it blocks the a/c buttons and vents). Don't really care for the pod look so looking for ideas/suggestions in the center console.

i have a nav pod alpine touch screen with blackbird navigation in los angeles and have no visbility issues.
