Visiting Palm Springs?

Golf, Golf and more Golf
Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to Mount San Jacento.
The Living Desert..kind of a zoo in the desert, they even have giraffes.
Knotts Soak City (Something for the Kids)
Shopping downtown (something for the Ladys)
Day Spa

There is a Marriott that has a lake in the front with gondola rides. They have a little shopping mall there, an awesome pool and a niteclub also.

That's what I thought. Too damn hot for golf. We were planning on Driving 7-8 hours from here?

You wouldn't believe how people golf in 110 degree heat.
That drive is doable...

I recommend this resturant if you like good Mexican Food and Margaritas!!!

Do you have to go in august? There are more pleasant months.

Since we're on the Japanese topic...

Be sure to try:

...and to confirm with the other folks...August is a baaaad time to come to PS unless you like being on the surface of the sun. It's not crowded, but boy is it hot.

I agree with Big_D's recommendation of the Living Dessert in Palm Desert, as well as the Tram.

As for other foodstuffs...There's Ricchio's for old-school, Frank Sinatra type Italian, as well as good steaks at "The Falls".
