Does anyone have or know wher I can get these transistors or maybe even a working amp?

The amp is a Soundstream MC120 old unit
The transistors needed are qty=2 T1P106 qty=2 T1P101
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
Len

Thanks Ken.
I am just wondering if they will sell it in small quantities. I will give them a call tomorrow.

Len3.8, I assume there must be a reason why you want to repair or replace this amp with one and the same vs. buying another amplifier.

I just did a search on Google to see if I could dig up info on the MC120 amplifier. I found a thread where a guy had 9 of them in a box as of September of last year. He might still have them.

From what I could gather it's a 4x30 amp that's over 10 years old. It was made by the old Soundstream which was a better company back then. A quality amp in the 4x50 range can be had starting about $150. Used even a lot less. The new ones are made by a much lower end company called Power Acoustik since Soundstream was bought out and really isn't in the same class of product as it used ot be.

Thanks Malibu. Yes it is an old and true amp. pretty clean and matched very well with the system that it is a part of. The amp is used for something not car stereo related actually.

Thanks I will see if this guy still has one.

Ok, if Ken's link doesn't work out and as these transistors are no longer made, you might want to checkout digikey.com for an equivalent transistor. They do sell onesy twosy...

TIP106 specs: PNP -80V -8A TO-220
The link below is to a part on digikey's catalog to a similar transistor that is -10a instead of -8a:

TIP101 Complementary part for TIP106 equivalent: NPN 80V 10A TO-220

http://www.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?Ref=16364&Row=150086&Site=US

Extra info on the original transistors:

TIP106
TIP101

Info on equivalents:
2N6668
2N6388

Good luck!
