After seeing where the GTR was heading for the next couple of years and where i was with it. I felt like i was stuck because i did all that i could and didn't want to spend anymore $ into it. After grabbing my forever nsx i felt more distant from the GTR. After researching a lot of cars and wanting something unique, it finally popped up! I fell in love right when i test drove it, it almost actually feels like a euro-nsx. Sorry these pictures suck! just had to share with my nsx fellas

nice, what year?

Thats a 997, they didnt have PDK on GT3's then. Best automotive decision you'll have ever made. And the trajectory of pricing is nuts as of recent!

Well played my friend, Im jealous!

Could you even get the 997 GT3's in PDK?

Congrats on the purchase, I have a lesser 911, but still love it. German cars have a more "solid" feel versus Japanese cars IMHO.

Fantastic car and great purchase! almost bought one myself recently. And definitely congrats bc you have gone from an appreciating car to another one but possibly what will be one of the best appreciating cars in the near future (so long as porsche keeps a manual out of newer models and you keep over revs off that computer lol)

lol for sure! really like the classy feeling of this car

Congrats. Care to give any reviews of GT3 vs GTR?

sure ill try to do my best! Some people have asked the difference in NSX vs GTR and i feel like it's almost the same as GT3 vs GTR. GTR is pretty much ridiculous in every way (power, handling, comfort, etc) but within time i felt slowly not as engaged with the vehicle as i once was when i first bought it. Almost like when you're in the honey moon stage of a relationship then you realize you don't really have much in common and sooner or later the lust/glimmer is gone. I actually did quite a bit of research in the GT3 before considering it and with all the raves and youtube videos, i knew i had to at least test drive it. I got the same exact grin when test driving the GT3 as i did when i first test drove a NSX. It was pure & raw, the manual gearbox is a joy and its really comfortable to drive around town. The 8400 redline on a flat6 is no joke and it really reminds me of the innovation they had with the NSX motor and that bliss of hearing a fine tuned machine. The car is "mid-rear" engine so similar feeling on how the nsx puts down the power and it weighs at 3k so it's very nimble.

I've chatted on and off with other car enthusiast and a lot of them really love the older GT3s and this was the last gen with the mezger engine. As well know in the NSX community its nice to own a piece of true motor history.

Very nice choice, like the Nsx it's appreciating in value. I've been searching for one as well.
Congrats!!

so was 2012 the last of the manual?

Couple questions about the GT3:

How is the shifter?

Does the clutch require a lot of effort to engage or is it light; how does it compare to OEM NSX?

thanks everyone! kind words.

shifter is amazing, clutch at first seems to require work but its super light and easy to engage. almost identical to OEM NSX

Wow! Fantastic looking car! The GTR, and this is going to sound crass; but are a dime a dozen! You made the right choice, and love the artic white or whatever color that is with blacked out wheels!

Great buy. The gtr is boss hog for speed. The problem is, it looks like a hog.
GT3 is sleek and sexy. If only that year had the lock nut wheel type. Those are awesome.

Wow, that's perfect. I am actually cross-shopping 997.2 GT3 and R8 V10 MT.

tell me what you think! :)
