Random thought that crosses my mind each time I'm on prime reading... What the hell inspired some of your guys' user names? I think mine is obvious, as are some others:

nsxtacy... fairly straight forward (man you have a lot of useful posts, thank you)
turbo2go..i get it
Nsx0t1k.. Cool.

Then there are the others, won't call anyone out but id like to know the basis for you choosing some of your user names and avatars. Thought itd make for an interesting thread, plus I was bored.

Thank you
-Dan

my birth inspired me LOL

I actually want my username to say NSXDR or DRNSX but since I didnt go to school for 24+ years to earn the title DR. I didnt want offend anyone that is actually a DR. and earned that title.

so I will stick with my birthday LOL

Someone told me that to pick a pornstar name for yourself all you have to do is take your childhood family pet's name together with the street you grew up on. Try it its pretty funny, I liked mine so I stuck with it, wife says the actual pornstar gig will have to wait.

Friends called me it while I was at trades school. It is the first letter of my name J from Jamie and my last name spelled backward, Birk to KRIB. That solves that mystery, props for making this thread

I REALLY like Pina Coladas so I use either Coconut or Pineapple on forums.

I would like to know what Dhalsim's reason is.

My username is a combination of "ska" and "mafia". Not sure if it was around before I thought of it but I started going by this handle in the old AOL programming days (~1997ish). My avatar is an actual photograph of my face. :p

I have risen from the ashes of three divorces. 599 was my motorcycle road racing number, and is taken from my father's (may he rest in peace) Army service number... O59922. I raced with 599 and 592, and unfortunately my father had passed before I started racing...and he never got to see me win with those numbers as a tribute to him. :(

Kinda stupid but some of my friends think I have too many cars so sometimes they call me jay Leno lol

Pchpleno = Portuguese (aka porkchop) jay Leno

Mine is related to a videogames called Metal Gear Solid (MGS) and Tokyo Xtreme Racer series (TXR).

In MGS there is a part of the game where you have a boss battle with a character who had superhuman strength carrying a mobil M61 Vulcan cannon, hence he was called "Vulcan Raven". He was a Inuit with shamanic power of intuition who was a member of group called foxhound. I really liked his character. I liked his creepy dark/mystic/spiritual/wise persona. I just thought he was a very interesting character and always liked him, so I wanted a username to include something with reference to him and his Ravens.

In TXR2 there is a racer who requires you to drive at midnight for him to appear and he was called the "Grim Reaper" and he drove a S15 Silvia. In TXR1 he had a Black S15 and he was actually the first boss car you have to race against. He was always tough because at the time you don't really have a fast car and he's pretty damn quick, so he was a memborable character for me. So with the symbolism of Death and Raven linking the two subjects and the requirement of "Grim Reaper" only appearing at midnight I came up with the name "Midnight Raven"

It' s perversion of Vmo- velocity maximum operating, my son's name is Max. Vmax reflects the need for speed. I used to do a lot of motorcycle racing and Max at 14 and his first time at the wheel did 80 in a jeep liberty on the Bonneville Salt flats while suffering a high fever.

According to that mine would be... "Poonie 56". Doesn't make for a very strong pornstar name. Ill run with it though lol

Pretty cool and legit background, my name backwards isn't half as cool. I always wanted a name that can be abbreviated to sound cool but got stuck with "DS" :/
glad you like the thread though :)

Lol wow "handle" is a term reminiscent of the ao-hell days. I went by "ion". That's crazy because that's the first reference to aol programming I've heard of in forever. I remember the days of punters, freezers, scrollers, phishing etc lol I miss working on .bas files and compiling cheap, amature proggies. Too bad we went instinct ages ago, good old days :)

Sorry about your father :(
your nick has the most actual sentimental meaning of all by memorializing your father and your racing bike, I salute you

My friends say I sell my cars all the time...

I too accept the street fighter challenger... It Any other fighting game tekken, etc. I have yet to be matched.

I grew up in Ohio, And in 1984, for the first time, was moving from everyone and everything I knew to a job in Oklahoma. I was driving my 1982 Toyota Celica GT packed with everything I owned at the time to Oklahoma and I took a wrong turn. I drove for several miles before I realized I was going the wrong way. So I stopped at a gas station in some small town in the middle of nowhere and asked the attendant for some directions. He looked at the plates on my car and The Ohio State shirt that I was wearing and said boy you are one lost Buckeye. So I've used that handle on various things ever since to remind me to take some chances once in awhile.

Thats a pretty cool story with a nice lesson derived. Wish I had something to look back and reflect on.

I'm still working on my pornstar name as per the previous post.

I joined most forums when I bought my RSX new in 06, hence 06_typeS.

I used all my substantial brain power, months of research,a month sabbatical in Tibet, to arrive at my unique and innovative screen name:tongue:

Back in my sarcastic high school/college days I loved my Integra so much i invented a word for it and got personalized license plates lol. I fused BAD and ACURA together and created BADCURA (which is my personalized plate again now on the NSX) and my initials are JC thus jcbadcura.

My screen name is a play on Honda's "Power of Dreams" and I always dreamed of owning an NSX which motivated/empowered me to work hard enough to own one.

I used to live on either my snowmobile or my snowboard - not doing so much of either nowadays with work - and with a 19 mo old and one due in December I can't afford to hurt myself doing the stupid stuff I used to while Snowboarding. We've got 3 sleds, but I'm on call 24/7 for work and haven't taken any vacation to make it up sledding in the last couple of years. 2 of them are at the shop right now - one getting a top end rebuild and the other tracking down a fuel leak.

Anywho, I've used the handle since as long as I can remember so I just continue to use it as no one has ever seemed to called it their own that I've come across, which makes it a convenient fallback when I'm on about a dozen+ forums.

Aaaaaaand, I haven't chosen an avatar yet. Maybe I will one day, lol.

Friend once told me that my first S2000 looked like a black nugget.... we made jokes about it for a while (alcohol contributed to the conversation) and as a joke I changed my username on another forum to that. From there it just stuck...
