Hey guys,

What is considered "normal" oil pressure for a stock nsx, preferably 98 if matters?

My nsx use to read half way or a notch higher during normal driving and when throttle was wide open it would be higher.

I currently had new thermostat, oil pump and pretty much my engine rebuilt and now my normal driving pressure is a lot higher.

Not sure if this is normal, but mine reads at 6 on the meter doing 70 MPH with the tach at 2800 RPM. I'm hoping that's normal. Anyone else want to chime in?

The gauge is not accurate and can read different results from day to day during the same circumstances. Unfortunately you cannot rely on it for much. Can't remember why it is exactly. A very well known NSX expert told me that during my same concerns. Try to just ignore the value it's reading.

There is a TSB out on this issue. Mine was almost 0 at idle and 30/40 when driving. Took to acura dealship the replaced sending unit and guage. They paid for parts i paid the labor. Works great now.

Hi Dave, that is something that i am ALWAYS curious ... here is what mine normally reads (97 Na2 63K miles)

Idling 2
Normal drive 4-5
Hard drive 6-6.5

I hope it helps ..

Just had a new oil sender unit put in (it was leaking oil).

My idle pressure is 2 and cruising at 80 the pressure is 6.

BTW - Before my pressure used to read 0 when at idle but the new sender seems to have fixed that problem
