What would be the best way to get 500+ HP?

I am not talking nitrous but a S/C or Turbo Kit. Also 500 HP at the crank so guessing about 425/430 at the wheels?

Oh! This is for a 91 with an automatic (ok don't hate me for the slushbox...the rush hour always catches up with my commute).

Thanks in advance.

HP turbo kit, running 10 pounds of boost should do the trick; you would want to strengthen the motor somewhat, perhaps not a full build, but pull the head, replace the seals, change the headgasket and studs. Your automatic transmission is going to be the issue here, you can have it strengthened, but its not going to be smooth if you do, and if you don't have it strengthened, you're going to burn through them. A manual conversion, with an upgraded (RPS, clutchmasters, etc.) clutch, would be the way to go here.

Step one-- Put hand in pocket
Step Two-- Pull out credit card
Step Three--raise credit limit
Step Four-- Give card someone who knows what they're doing.
Step Five-- Drive 500 hp nsx

I always laugh at this type of question - there is so much information posted on prime in regards to this topic that if one was to search they would be reading for a week and be well informed....

To answer your question though, how about 10K+ dollars. You have that, than any number of vendors on this site will square you away in no time. I'm thinking to do it right though it will be more around 15k+ though. Oh, and get rid of the auto tranny, I suspect it wouldn't last long at those power levels...

All you really need to do to the motor is drop in forged pistons (rods and crank are fine at that level). I'd throw ARP headbolts, rod bolts and mains in there since you will have the motor apart and at a machine shop anyway.

Then put the LoveFab or a similar kit on it and have fun until the slushbox breaks.

Best of luck with your project.

yes, do it and enjoy.
Fix it after it breaks!!! lol
