i know how much a new one is ... but i see tons and tons of 5+ year old ones w/ very low miles.

and insurance ... how pricey is that?

i'm willing to sell my home btw ... j/k

Welcome to the board!

I see you are from Cincinnati. My wife and I are going there this weekend. Her MDX needs to have the 7500 mile service done.

There are many threads on this forum that discuss this topic, so you might want to read those if you haven't already.

Most people don't realize that the earlier models are quite attainable. They cost less than a new luxury SUV. If you have to finance, however, you might run into trouble getting a loan for more than 3 years. Some of the guys on this forum have gotten some pretty good financing deals on early model (91-93) NSX's.

I went with a certified used 2000 that qualified for a lease because I wanted a '97+.

As for insurance, it's not too bad if your record is clean. I think I pay a little under 700.00 every 6 months. Since I am leasing, the bank requires that I keep some pretty significant coverage on the car (since it is technically theirs

It's pretty easy to find a well-maintained five-speed '91 NSX with clear title and moderate mileage (say 50K miles) for $32-34K. You can find NSX's for less than that but they tend to be in poor condition and/or automatic transmission and/or salvage or theft title and/or high (100K+) mileage.

You can check out websites like http://www.autotrader.com or http://www.cars.com to review typical asking prices.

The cost of ownership is high, though. While it's a very reliable car, if it does need repairs, they can be expensive.

It depends on your age, driving record, where you live, etc. If you are serious about buying one, and you can afford the occasional repair ($2K for a clutch, $1-4K for air conditioning), then insurance will not be a problem for you. You can find out how much it would cost YOU to insure an NSX by calling your insurance agent or going to http://www.insweb.com/

Don't forget that a lot of your questions may already be answered in the NSX FAQ.

I bought my '92 in '99 with 45k miles and paid $32 then, price would probably be about the same today.
