What's up with apples new ads?

Normally apple easily has the best commercials on tv. They are masters of marketing. That said, what is up with these ads with celebrities are terrible. I like zoey and Sam, but these ads suck.

Is this the first time apple has used celebs in ads? I do really like the new iPad ads.

I've seen billboards for iPad 2 still posted well after the intro of iPad 3. This never would have happened if Steve was still around. Something's up.
