After years of searching I final found a wheel I like thats being custom made
ZEforged Shifter Polish. 17x8 +38 (f) 1" lip / 18x10 +40 (r) 3" lip
tire size I'm looking at is 215/40 / 265/35

I've search this form for years reading and looking at different set up and I did not find anyone with the that set up and offset, some were close but not a match, I could be wrong. So based on feedbacks I've read I decided that set up would be best for for I was looking for.

So my question is, I looking for the the tire and wheels to be flush with fender (just inside the fender arch). I don't want any stretch look on the tire just flush with the rim lip or a bit over to protect the rim lip.

What do you guys think of that set up. Will this Feedback and pictures good ones at an angle would be great.

I currently have Integral SSR A2 255/40/17x9 +38 (r) 205/45/16 (f)offset don't know with 8mm speacers. rear can set come out another inch or two front about 2 or 3 to be flush.

Thanks

Sounds good.

Tire manufacturers specify a range of approved rim widths for each tire model and size. At the high end of the range, the tires may appear stretched onto the rim; at the low end of the range, the tires may appear to bulge out from the rim. If you want to avoid the stretched look, avoid the high end of the range.

Most 215/40-17 tires are approved for rim widths of 7.0-8.5 inches. To avoid the stretched look, you may want to consider a rim that's 17x7 or 17x7.5 rather than 17x8.

Most 265/35-18 tires are approved for rim widths of 9.0-10.5 inches. To avoid the stretched look, you may want to consider a rim that's 18x9 or 18x9.5 rather than 18x10.

Personally, I don't think they would look all that stretched with 17x8 or 18x10, since they are not at the very top of the approved range. But if this is something that really concerns you, going down a half inch from there in width might be a good idea.

Conversely, you can switch the tire sizes to 275 or 285 so that the tire isn't stretched.

Not a good idea. The handling tends to decline when the stagger (difference in treadwidth front vs rear) goes over 50 mm. That can also cause TCS problems with certain NSX model years.

Thanks for the feedbacks.

275 is a consideration too. My main concern is I don't want it wheels and tire to stick out outside the fender front or back not my taste. On the other hand i want to to maximize the wheel wells to have the wide exotic look.

Or he can increase the width of the front to keep stagger w/i desirable limits. There's more than one possible solution.

Then it is likely to rub.

I know you've got a personal bias for wide tires, Ponyboy, and that's fine for the track. But for street-driven cars, it's really not going to do anything significant for performance, and it's going to have a negative effect on acceleration, weight, cost, etc.

There are 225 sizes that don't rub if it's an issue. If it's not then he can go to 245s if he wants.

Any bias I have for wide tires and/or performance benefits/negatives is irrespective of the poster's stated concern. I merely provided another option so that his tire doesn't appear stretched.

Ok so in other words 17x7 +38mm offset and 18x9 +40 or 38mm to be safe. Company doesn't make 1/2 sizes then use a spacer to get the look i want. Since it's being custom made I would rather get it made to my liking instead of using a speacer.

I current have 255/17x9 +38 rear I would like that to come out about another 1" Fronts are 205/45/16 don't know offset I'm assuming its the same as the rear since it's not a custom fit and the fronts I would like to come out about another 2-3inches and both f/r have 8mm spacers.

You can't be sure; it's a significant risk.

There a ton of uncertainties when modifying cars. Ask me how I know... ;)

I think you mean 205s...?

No, I really did mean 245s. They'll fit on a 8" wheel. It'll look pudgie but it'll fit.

I think that's good thinking. An 8mm spacer is about as far as you'd want to go though I think there are some out there that use bigger spacers.

if you look at my gallery i have 17x8 20 yes 20 offset with 245/35/17 on the front and it still does'nt stick out if you look around prime i also saw someone running 8 inch wheel 30 offset i think most people are pretty conservative when choosing offsets for the nsx most people seem to think 8" with a 40 is the max for front. Also the rear can take 9.5 with 25 offset 275/30/19

Thanks Angus, I checked it out looks good.
