Wheels Offsets?

I was seraching around prime, but I just couldnt quite find a good solid answer.

If was I to get a 17x8 (front) and 18x10(rear), what would be the best offset so that the rims and tires were relatively flush with the fender?

I am currently running the stock spring lowered on bilsteins (2nd perch).
As fas tires, I would run 215/40/17 up front and probably 275 or 285 rears.

Thanks,
Nathan

I just ordered Advan Model T5s:

17x8 +38 mm (215/40-17)
18x10 +42 mm (265/35-18)

The should be sitting pretty close to flush on my stock 1997 based on the research... Not sure how the Bilsteins would affect the settings.

I think 265s or 275s are recommended for the rears--aren't there some threads that mention 285s possibly being too wide?

Sorry about that. I acutally meant to say that I will be putting on either 265 or 275, not 285.
Thanks for the offsets. I will definitely keep looking. And be sure to post up some pictures of you car with those T5s. Those are a great classic looking wheel.

Thanks,
Nathan

From my experience
17x8 +38 offset, 215 width tire
18x10 +35 offset, 275 width tire
those widths and offsets provide a pretty "flush" look.

Here's mine with except being 18x8 front, 19x10 rear, but with the offsets I just mentioned.

The only manufacturer that I know of that makes custom wheels for the NSX is AZEV in Germany.

Their wheels are:

17x8 et +40
18x10 et +45

These do not rub with 215/40/17 front and 265/35/18 rear tyres.

I had this set-up and it was fine with OEM suspension and also Tein RA coilovers which lowered it by about 1.5".

Having said that ajchang's advice looks fine as well.

Hapa88's fronts look good, however I would suggest that the rears are probably at the lower limit. They could even possibly rub with anything larger than a 265 tyre on depending on the suspension camber.

There are quite a few offsets that people are running that are supposedly flush to the fender without rubbing.

I have
+41 17x8 rims with 215/40/17 tires
+43 18x10 rims with 275/35/18 tires
on a stock setup and plan to get bilsteins eventually. I think the 275 looks cool, but wonder if it might rub when the car is lowered.

Use the same offsets we have listed above. You will need a wheel that offers a different wheel "face" to clear big brakes (also known as "High Disk", or "A Disk").

I'm running 275 rears with no problems. My previous setup was with a 19x10 +30 offset with a 275/30/19 tire. No rubbing issues with that one either and I was lowered on Bilsteins on the lower perch. The reason why they worked was because when the suspension compresses in the rear, the wheel actually travels at an angle into the fender and up as opposed to just straight up (if this were actually the case my fenders would be gone!).

I know of a few NSXs that have been running 285 for a while with no problems; I run 215-35 18 front and 275-30 18 rear with the car lowered 3/4" with no problems on the street or the track. There is a prime member that has 305 at the rear but I have not yet been able to get an answer from him as to the wheel set-up and offsets.

Bobolinski has 315/25/19 in the rear of his 19x11.25 wheels with a +48 offset. To achieve the same "fender flushness" that would be the same offset as a +32 offset on a 10" wide wheel.

So on a 18x10 wheel on the rear, with a 275 or 265 wide tire, I would need a +32 offset on the rear? That seems a bit too much. I figured on a more skinny tire, I would need a +38 or +42 offset.
