which expansion tank works the best?

Re: which expansion tank works da best?

I got Chris's Coolant tank, and it's a well made piece. I like it a lot. Just FYI, the silver looks more like a clear coat silver paint than aluminum finish. However, it still look very nice when installed. (lighting angle will make it look a look like bare aluminum.) Polished will look very good indeed, but Chris recomment me getting the silver as Polished gets dirty and dull easily and you might want to polish it to make it look good from time to time.

If you have a red manifold cover, the Red one will look good too, IMO.

Here's a diagram of how the baffle works. This is a very important feature to prevent air from entering the cooling system...

It's the only internally baffled expansion tank available on the aftermarket (just like stock). It uses the same factory-size tabs for mounting and does not require any modification to be installed. All tanks now use billet aluminum ribbed tube connectors allowing you to reuse the factory hose clamps.

How long have your coolant tanks had the internal baffle incorporated?

FYI - The baffle in my SOS coolant tank is only about 1/3 the height shown in the diagram.

They have all been built from the same template for the past 1-2 years. Unless yours is a very early unit, they should looks roughly the same as the diagram above. Either way, the coolant level sits at about the half way mark. The full height baffle is used mostly for ease of manufacturing.

I guess that's what I get for being an early adopter.
