Which reverse camera fits the NSX keyhole?

I'm installing a Pioneer AVIC-N1 and would like to install a reverse camera in the rear (trunk) keyhole. Since the keyhole is in the plastic center light, I was wondering which model of camera would work.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I know the odds of this happening are really small, but if you do the camera in the center tail light section, you might think about some kind of a bypass in case the trunk release solenoid fails. It would have to be a manual bypass. I held off on doing this because I don't want to be in that position where I cannot open my trunk.

So you might want to consider a product like Platecam from Crimestopper.

What's the point of having one of these on an NSX? I can understand having it on a truck or big SUV that often gets loaded with crap obscuring the rear view but the visibility out the back through the rear view mirror (even with a tinted hatch) is outstanding on the NSX. Not to mention the side mirrors are also excellent.

I can only imagine the ensuing nightmare is the trunk solenoid fails! I guess if you must have one of these, the license plate frame version would be the way to go.

The keyhole mount is still a very imaginative mod but I think a shotgun loaded with ceramic BBs or perhaps a tube to pump out a few gallons of motor oil would have more practical applications!

Um i think that one of the reasons for having these on an NSX is that its pretty damn cool! I've always felt the rear section of the car was
more challenging to park than most other cars i've driven. and third cuz its friggin cool

Does anyone have a specific model of camera and supplier that they are happy with?

Should I go with a camera that is a "wide angle" or standard?

P.S. regarding the pull wire....That's a good idea. I could also install another solenoid to unlock the trunk by pulling on the "pull wire". This would be very easy to do and would eliminate having to drill a hole in the trunk floor.

I like this option a lot better than replacing the trunk key. I just had a problem opening the trunk with the release switch. I could hear the solenoid clicking but the trunk refused to pop open. I had to use the key to open the trunk. Afterward, the release switch worked fine. I'm wondering if all the hard cornering I was doing earlier in the day caused the trunk to jam from all the body flex from an NSX-T.

I think I've come up with a relatively simple way to get into the trunk without having to cut any metal, should the trunk solenoid ever die. I'm hesitant to post it publically, since it exposes a security risk for those of us with cams in place of the keyhole. PM me if you want details.. or maybe I'm being too paranoid??
