I think you were trying to make a point about racism, but I don't think it has anything to do with your so called "double standard".
Hmm, so this show has nothing to do with stereotypes, whether it be breaking them down or furthering them? The show's producers would argue otherwise, since they freely admit that they named the show to instantly evoke an image in viewers' minds about members of a particular race, positive or negative. The only thing about the show I like is the host MC Serch, as I liked him and the rest of 3rd Bass back in the day.
As stupid as the show idea is, I think the VH1 show is on the air b/c advertisers will support it. I doubt you'd get much advertising support for the CMT show you suggested and that's why it would never air.
You're absolutely right....there isn't a smart sponsor in the world who would sign on to back the show I was proposing. Yet there are sponsors for a show that overtly furthers a stereotype about Caucasians. And you're saying that there is no double-standard at work here? Riiiight.

Isn't this the very definition of a double-standard?
This isn't anywhere near the first show that uses stereotypes to get ratings and bring in sponsor dollars. Gays got theirs in "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," teams were split up by race on the last iteration of "Survivior", and farm animals got their come-uppance when Rosie O'Donnell was added to the cast of "The View." I'm not saying any of this is bad, I'm merely making a point about the double-standards at work out there. It's okay to pick on some groups, yet it's incredibly taboo to even try to bring up stereotypes about other groups. This is selective intolerance, or selective tolerance depending on your point of view. Either way, it exists, and that is undeniable.
The bottom line is this.......If we're going to break down stereotypes in our society, we can't do it while furthering others at the same time.
Has anyone ever heard 50 Shekel (aka Aviad Cohen)? His 2003 song "In Da Shul" made hiim "The Worlds Most Kosher MC". He's actually not a bad rapper.
I dig Matisyahu myself.
One.
