Just curious as to who owns this?

No I'm not looking to do the same to mine, but would like to see more photos and info.

Wow. who would purposely cut a hole in the roof of their NSX?

Could have just gone targa? (*just buying a targa originally instead of converting a hardtop)

actually to do the targa top would be a huge chunk of change.

you can do this kind of Sunroof for about 700 bucks.

I thought about this but the headliner turns me off LOL.

it does look cool I think

what about a True T-top

you could remove both or either driverside or passnger side. that may be interesting to see.

Shawn, you made my day man! I'm still wiping the tears from my eyes after seeing that 1st "rendering" of the T/A.

Wow interesting never thought about a moon roof on an NSX.
As of late, I have been liking the phat five wheels, somehow they have that classy look to the original nsx, still have my pristine set

That's very neatly done.

I had a similar pop-up sunroof installed in my 1989 Mustang shortly after buying it — after agonizing about having the roof cut — and enjoyed it like that for many years.

Just showed the photo to my wife, and she asked, "Would you want to do that?" I don't think so - not sure about structural integrity, stiffness, and long-term strength of the NSX's aluminum. But it does look nice.

And yes, that T/A is gorgeous.

looks great and neatly done to me.

im no expert but for avg cruising and normal driving speeds i dont think structural integrity would be a huge issue. hopefully the experts will can comment further.

my buddy had this modification done to his 2000 toyota celica a month after he bought the car brand new back in the day. i remember being told that they do strengthen the area around the sunfroof but who knows for sure.

i think that for those who own an nsx coupe as a cruise-mobile but want to see a little sun; this isnt necessarily a terrible option.

I wonder how such a mod would affect structural integrity?

I'm not an engineer but I don't think the structural integrity is affected much. What I think matters in these cases is what's "around" not in the "middle".

The only downside I see here is adding weight on top of the car which is bad for handling but if someone wants to trade that for a little sun then it's their choice.

Well I would like to see some photos with the roof open. It doesn't look like it can open very far without hitting that aftermarket antenna on the hatch, but pictures can be deceiving.

Where did you find this?

I can't recall where I found it? Maybe it was on here.

I posted it up on the UK club yers ago and remembered about it earlier today, so thought I'd find it and post it up again.

Would really just like to see more photos of it as its so unusual to see, and be interested to hear from the owners on his experience with this setup.

If it's not factory installed, the hardware and fitment is usually sub-par.
This goes for t-tops,sliding sunroofs,moonroofs and pop-ups.
The silicone weather strip needs constant attention, particularly later in life.Trim rings on the interior that screw into the bottom of the sun-roof line, bend and warp because of poor design. Then those flaws are hidden when the headliner gets it's final dressing.
The bigger the hole you cut, the more complicated it gets.
They can look cool, but usually end up being massive migraines....after market sunroofs are something I'd stay away from.

I personally do not think it looks bad, but would never do this to my own car. I've always had sunroofs on all my cars, but never used them  To each his own.

It is from Virginia at the time the pic was taken so maybe go to "Southeast US Region" clubs and see if the owner can be found there.
Just a guess.

Cheers
