Well, I guess it helps who you know? I just had some new rear tires and a 4 wheel align done today and with tax it was $285 and some change. I think that was a heck of a deal. Of couse my friend is the manager of a Firestone shop so I assume that helps. The tires are Bridgestone RE 750's, as the Yoko are too expensive to buy IMO especially since I want to upgradse wheels soon. What do you all think, did I get a good deal??

The OEM tire size 225/50/16....

I think you paid a low price for mediocre tires. It's up to you to decide whether that is a good deal or not, and whether it fits your needs or not. But I sure wouldn't put those tires on my NSX...

And in the opinion of many people the NSX is way too expensive to buy for what they get. To each his/her own. But since you asked, not, I wouldn't call that a particularly good deal because IMO it lessened you car, especially since you now have mismatched tires front to rear which is a bad idea regardless of price. Take it easy on them for awhile, especially in the wet.

Let me ask you all this?? Do you guys have any experience with these tires?? Secondly, my NSX is used currently as a daily driver and it is never tracked or driven hard in curves or put sideways in the road while driving. It is driven under normal conditions. So, how is it that my tires are mediocre when it comes to what they are being used for??

I have tested 750's at length both on the street and track and they are pretty awesome! I don't feel bad for you at all. The price you paid was very decent too. You did fine. I would however suggest running all 4 tires the same if I were you, you will then and only then really get the true safety and handling you deserve from that tire.

For those of you who may have never driven a 750, it is waaaaaaaaaaaaay above a Kuhmo 712, and about equal in the dry to the ES100, nice tire. I prefer the S-03 (it's big brother) but like those of us who have driven Integras and Legends in the past all know, sometimes the lesser expensive sibling is a nice product too.

Back to the es100 again, an entry level tire that is not something I would use on my NSX. On my newer 3 series BMW, I replaced my stock Pirelli P7000's with these tires and found them to be about half the tires the Pirelli's are(which is not saying very much). Road noise, line grabing and overall performance has been subpar to say the least. Here's the way I see things(only my opinion). It would be similar to putting walking shoes on a professional athlete and expecting them to perform the same as with the correct shoes on.

I don't really get that the big deal of mixing two different design tires?? I did not have experience of doing that, nor have guts to do this since 'everyone' of you telling me not to on the NSX.

But for my accord, I had been mixing and matching last 3 years. I felt the best ever I had was getting a SP9000 and the Kumho 712 on mine. (well, I haven't test the S03 on it yet, so bear with me.) Of course sometimes, in certain case I felt like the rear tire break loose earlier than the front since they are less grippy, and my cousin kept worring about it, since he felt they have different characteristics, and he's not used to it. But it works out for my driving style, since whenever the rear broke loose, it reduced the understeering and with a little help of e brake I can control the exit angle and stomp on the gas way earlier than usual...

Please, race/ track expert, correct me if I'm wrong... (I'm certain that I am, but the experience told me I'm not, yet, I would never, never do that on the nsx....)

Mixing tires (using a different tire model on the front from the one in the rear) is not advisable for any car, not just the NSX. It makes the handling unpredictable. Perhaps you like the way your car handled that way on a particular day - but what if the two tires change characteristics when it's much hotter, or much colder, so that the balance is different? What if the front tires grip differently from the rear tires if the pavement is wet? Definitely not recommended...

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply they are junk. Quite the contrary, they are probably pretty darn good overall. But you specifically asked for opinions and didn’t initially describe your own driving habits, which are a key issue. Still, in my opinion they are not (can't be) quite up to the standards of the NSX just like a Ford Mustang is a good car but not what I wish to drive. I also went on to say "especially since you now have mismatched tires front to rear" because that is likely to further degrade the handling. Mind you, in my younger days I was know to do this and worse regularly and still drive like a fool because the only way I could afford performance tires was grabbing take-offs form wrecks etc. Heck, there were times I had a different tire on every corner and still survived. I think I probably picked up some car control skills in those days.

But all that said your post title suggested some great deal because you had connections. Heck, Tire Rack has them for $110 each so after the alignment I figure you saved the price of mount & balance. Not exactly something to write home about, but a decent deal and I’m glad that you are pleased with them.
