Why no heat?

It maybe just the heater valve on the hose which has a cable attached to it, located by the firewall front on driver side. Try rotate your temperature dial and check on the valve.
+1. There is a small metal clip that holds the cable in place. If that clip opens up the cable end can hop right off the heater valve control arm.
I bent the clip a little when I was trying to get it loose so I could remove the coolant hose. Had to bend it back to the correct shape to get it to stay closed.
All this stuff is small but easy to find. Just follow the heater coolant hoses up to where they disappear into the front bulkhead. Control valve is part 5 on this diagram:
