Why wouldn't you vote for Obama?

Lots of political threads here now questioning Obama's qualifications. Some even believe he is a terrorist. If he loses are you sure you know why he did? I saw a study on the racial aspect and i was surprised(not really) what people said behind closed doors.

I've heard this and sometimes with "this will be the first time I voted to get a "N" in the white house".

However, I have read that it is predicted that Obama's figures will be a lot less than what is reported in informal polls, because a lot of people who claim to be voting for Obama will not show up on election day.

I am not so worried about Obama I am more worried about the entitlement mentality getting worse because he is in the white house. No I am not a racist. I am simply stating what I see everyday. You guys wouldn't believe what I see sometimes and what I have been hearing lately send shivers up my spine. I am talking about all races of people who are lazy. they see Obama as a second coming of Christ ready to hand out free fish. It's gonna be bad. I didn't mean to stur up anything emotional or disrespectful:biggrin:. I am black and I think he's better than what we have but also, i'm voting for him becasue he IS black. I am able to identify with Obama because he looks like me and faces the same things i do. Presidents have little to do with the economy but other countries hate us becasue of the lies and bulling The US have done over the yeras. Obama may show the world that the US is changing, for the betterment of world relations. My reasons may be emotional but, from what i've seen people are tired of lies and deceit.

Im not sure what reverse racism is since we didn't start racism in the first place. Dont confuse the truth about history with reverse racism. Im not anti-white, i wasn't raised that way. But i grew up and work with people EVERYDAY that were TAUGHT to look down on blacks or any minority. The Jena 6 saga was proof that some racism still exist, and for what??? Look how bad the OJ saga got? Hell some of the people on NSXprime believe Barack Obama is a terrorist?

I applaude him for risking his life and family to represent a country that about 40 years ago, would let him drink form the same water fountain in some places. It is a historic time and i was really wondering how far we've come towards race relations. Its looking like our next president will be black, is he going to be given a FAIR chance to do his job?

Lots of black people are voting for him because he gives them hope, kinda like MLK. At least he looks like america, a mixture of people. If Obama lied about WMD and swept it under the run, he woulda been publically lynched. Black people don't wear white hoods or form lynch mobs, for no explainable reason. Generations of whites were not destroyed cause some brutha said they didn't like white people and they had tails. I don't hate whites at all(or anybody non-black), but i can understand why some people would. If 6 black familes moved in your neighborhood in the next 3 months, without you knowing enaything about them, would you move? You know i had to go there with you Steveny:smile:, be honest.

This is the one BIG issue i have with the guy, most of your support is baed on the color of his skin, doesnt that make you racest to some extent?

I've been hearing the race issue being batted around quite a bit lately and it bothers me. I find myself constantly having to justify that my decision is not affected by race. It scares me to think of what might happen if McCain wins. I think of the further division it may cause. I for one don't care what color a candidate is. I want to know what kid of person he/she is. Bring me Colon Powell and I'll vote for him in a heartbeat. Obama isn't the right candidate for me, so he won't be getting my vote.

I voted "he is black" so that Ko will maintain his conviction towards his cause, whatever that may be. I think Ko makes some great points on how a black president could change the view of America in the ROW's eyes. However, I can't choose my president to impress the ROW or because I'm concerned with our image more then our substance. If Obama just had a stronger record behind him (not dictating what he should vote on, just develop some sort of longer term consistency so people could judge his policies a little better) and 5-10 years in "real" politics I think he'd be much better off. Just getting this far is an astounding achievement. I can't imagine trying to go around to a bunch of rich white people asking them to give me lots of cash as a black guy running for president. Takes some guts for sure.
