Hello, new to the forums. Im here because im doing research on buying a NSX and hope to be a member/owner of a NSX. And i was wondering if and when the NEW NSX comes out, what do you think will happen to the price of the NSX from 91-00? DO you guys think the price will drop? Like the used 300zx dropped with the 350z came out. Just wondering THANKS~ any input would help.

I doubt there will be any effect at all on the older NSXs such as the years you are asking about.

no, it will go up......hopefully....

I think it'll depend on the pricing for the new NSX. If it's steel body and under 60K the older models may see a slight rise in price. On the other had if it's an improved version of the current NSX the pricing may drop.

I'm not so sure about that.

On the long term side, the NSX price/value will definately rise, no doubt about that.

But on the mid to short term, I think its value will decrease somewhere between moderate to huge, depending if the new car will be:

more expensive and offering a huge leap on the performance aspect: moderate to low depreciation

cheaper 300 hp V6 3L HSC: huge depreciation

Why? Because no matter build quality/material, if the new car offers more hp and performance for less money, the NSX value will dive as fast as its desirability.

Call it the Corvette effect...

I fear this last scenario... the best move Honda could make if they wish to make as much as possible unhappy significant people while doing the opposite to insignificant others... JMO

I think it also depends on if they call the car the NSX or HSC. If it is a 300HP steele body NSX for $60K you might be right. However, if they call that same car the HSC, I don't think it will affect the current NSX too much.
