Will these wheels work?

17X8 front, 18X8.5 rear, +45 offset all around

Will these sizes fit without any problems/rubbing? Are spacers required? These are supposedly S2000/NSX-spec sizes/fitment and only come in these sizes.

Thanks

TJ,

There are certainly others on the forum that have much more knowledge than me (particularly nsxtacy/Ken), but from what I see I wouldn't think so. Anytime you see a fitment that claims the NSX AND the S2000, I would be leary (sp). The 8.5 on the rear seems a bit narrow to me. Most will go with 9" or larger. I currently run 9's in the rear, but just made a change and my new Volk's will be 10's (great for BBK, FYI). The offsets should be more in the line of 42ish up front and 40ish in the rear. This of course, will be dependent on wheel width and lip size. Good luck, and hope this helps!

By the way, if you are interested in "mesh" style wheels, I have some TSW's for sale! :) Sorry, that was a lame plug!

Best,
Chuck

A 17x8 ET 45 would fit, but with a 215/40/17 would look stretched when mounted. An 18x8.5 ET 45 would also fit, but would be more narrow then the factory 17x9 that comes mounted with a 255/40/17. So even if you mount a 255/35/18, it would look broad shouldered...

IT would work, but I think you can find other combos that might work better.

Would it be any better with a 17x7 ET45 front? I have my heart set on some discontinued wheels and these are the only options available; there's zero possibility of customizing an order. Maybe I can ask the dealer to break up a set and sell the 17x7 front instead. thanks for the help

ME TOO RR RN and anyone else that wants to provide me some good pointers as I'm trying to choose wheel sizes, supplier, etc! Ideally, I'd like to read anyone's summary along the lines of a list of Do's and Don'ts!

Anyone?? Thanks mucho

Thanks for the feedback,

Have you determined what you are going to do regarding wheel sizes?

I'm reading 17 in front 18 in rear, also 18 & 19.... offsets from 42 t 47.... one guy tells me to look into runing all 18s.

Does anyone on this board know anything conclusive about original engineering perspectives on larger diameter wheels. It just seems like a message board like thois would have "someone" otr a few that can speak with certainly and authority. Yes?

If so, who's the recommended suppiers? Just TieRack, and the rest of 'em in Sports Caompact Car??

I am new to this forum and have quickly discovered how valuable it is. I have a `91 black/black everything stock but to soon change. Invested ~5 hours over the weekend researching data over the internet for information regarding wheels, tires, exhaust, headers, etc. and found the forum very helpful. Like the GY F1 GS-D3 tires (215/40/17 and 265/35/18) to avoid rubbing and having to modify anything and to keep the weight within reason. Will check out a local supplier but the consensus seems to be that Tire Rack is credible and price competitive. Looking at the Volk forged wheels from Science of Speed. I have not talked to them but trust I will get honest and credible service. NSXtacy a very good source if he is willing to contribute to your questions.
Would welcome comments and suggestions on my thinking as well.
