I am in the process of getting a set of wheels from a member would like to know if this setting would rub.

"Wheel and tire 17x7/18x9.5" according to the seller "17x7+42mm and 18x9.5 +35mm(or +45mm, I have to go home and look). I have 4 custom made spacer for the wheels to fit close to the fender. It will not rub the fender when you drive or turn. But when you turn the wheel all the way to make a u-turn, it will depend how low your car is and how soft your suspension is."
I am still waiting for seller's email regarding the actual number of the wheels

You will need to provide the tire dimensions and also the spacer sizes to calculate whether or not they are likely to rub.

Wheel type would be nice as well,it is hard to help you with such sketchy info.

this is what I am trying to put on
bridgestone s03.
front 215/40 17
rear 265/35 18

I have put the rear on today, with the spacer it will clear the caliper, but people from the tire shop told me the one I have for front will rub the fender, they said I'll probably get another set of front tire either 215/35 17 or 205/35 17. what do you guys think.

Those tire sizes 215/40/17 265/35/18 are the most common sizes and should work fine,,,but you still have not told us what wheels and if you have big brakes?

NSXWIND,

How wide is the front spacer? If you know the width of the wheel, offset of the wheel and the width of the spacer you can compute how far out the wheels will be pushed out.

Instead of using the spacers provided with the wheels you might be able to use ones that are not as wide, as long as the wheel spokes clears the calipers you should be ok.

Many of those show cars probably don't handle too well given that they are more for show rather than go.

Chris's NSX is an exception given that it runs on Motons and has been properly setup by Andrie, hehe :D

Before I forget, is your car lowered?

Ken

BTW: If you are really desperate and can't get a different spaer try a 205/40/17 tire size, I think that should fit better than a 205/35/17 (if such a thing exists..)

I left the spacer at the tire shop, have nothing to measure. I need to go back tomorrow to take care of the front wheel so didn't want to carry around it.

I believe the car is lower with tien suspension, it was done by the previous owner. I don't know how much did it lowered (have no stock nsx to compare to) but it gives me about 3 inch of ground clearence.

NSXWIND,

I checked the spec sheet for the SO3's, the only other size that might be smaller is the 205/40/17. The SO3's don't come in 215/35/17 or 205/35/17.

Looking at the previous owner pictures, it looks like he had the overfender covers for his front and rear fenders, so even with the narrower 205 tire your setup with the stock fenders might rub up front :(

If you were local I could lend you a 3mm, 7.5mm, 15mm spacers so that you could try them, but I think that you are down there somewhere in SoCAL :(

Ken

BTW: Are they spacers or hub adapaters? If they are spacers you might need longer studs as well.

Maybe you already know this by doing a search, but just wanted to give you a heads up, just in case. Better to be safe.

2slow2speed

thank you for all your information. I am gonna head down to the tire shop 1st thing in the morning and hopefully we'll be able to solve everything. if the s03 doesn't come with the size I need, I guess I'll just have to go for another brand. got any suggestion?

it is spacer and it comes with everything, thanks for the heads up. I don't think the spacer will create any problem its the tire size I am worry about.

I'll let you know tomorrow once I get everything fix.

everything is fine for now :D :D :D

it won't rub for normal turns but it looks like it'll rub for hard corner and u-turn. anyway I love the look of the new wheels, I'll post the pic tonight. also I'd like to thank every one that had helped me during the process. thank you all.
