I have read the many posts and was trying to come to some conclusions. For the front lip is it best to leave the front lower lip on or off (91 origional style)? Are most of you using just tape or also screws and brackets for the side skirts. Finally the rear spats, has anyone had good luck with just the tape or are the screws really necessary? I have drilled a drain hole for the spats and aluminum rail/strip for sagging side skirts.

For the front lip I personally recommend leaving the OEM lip on (original 91 lip ) and using it as a guide to mount the WW front lip. I did this during my install and for those who have seen my install they can tell you its perfect. Yes I would use some additional screws or rivits where you can. As for the other pieces I cannot comment as I do not have the other pieces on my car.

I removed the OEM front lip, it seemed to get in the way when I tried it. Evidently you can leave it on, but it would be tight. I think it would be easier to get the new one on if you remove the old one. For the side skirts, I used tape on all the tape mounting surfaces of the new skirts, and also used machine screws at the front and back ends of the skirt (vertically, in to the fender/body at the very ends of the skirt. Just to be sure, I also used self-tapping hex head screws underneath the car into the chassis, but only because the older WW skirts were prone to sagging. For the spats, I taped them and also screwed them. The front screw into the OEM spat in the wheel well is obvious, I added one to that difficult rear corner as well. I used a decorative screw cap on that one - you can see it but I painted it with touchup paint and so it matches will. I feel that tape alone would not hold that back corner on, and didn't want to use permanent adhesive as many body shops do. P.S. article on WW kit installation by your's truly to appear in next issue of NSX Driver (a bit late for the group buy people, but what can you do).

Here is some input..........
I will pay quite a bit for a nice early style OEM chin spoiler.
(My lowered 94 cant make it into my driveway very well with the 97 and later style lip)
So, if anyone here has an early style chin spoiler they would like to get TOP DOLLAR for PM or E-mail me.
Shameless plug................
THANKS!
MCM

Sorry MCM but I just went out in the garage to see if there was an old style lip under my wings west ft end and its gone, but man whoever put that sucker on there ment it! its taped, screwed and painted on! its looking a little shabby does anybody know where I could find a blk lower bumper?,,JZ

I have another suggestion thou for those who dont want to leave the stock lip on. You can always find out what the thickness of the old first gen lip spoiler is and make spacers the same thickness and use that as a guide and there is always blue painters tape you can stick on the bumper as your guide.

There is no reference necessary from the original lower lip - the WW will fit with reference to the top ledge of the lower bumper part (not the lip). I don't understand this recommendation as quoted - spacers or tape to locate it in lieu of the lip are just not necessary.
I have no OEM lip on my install. If it's there, there is no requirement to remove it, but if not, I would definitely not be looking to install one before fitting the WW.
The lip only needs screws per the original instructions, at the vertical surface against the front fender well. The tape is super strong!

For skirts, I made this install guide - http://www.irquick.net/jahani/skirts.pdf
Definitely helps to have some additional screws to pull it up tight at the front & rear fender interfaces.

Wow , now that is a great install guide. Thanks for the link and the pictures are great. I think I will just leave the front lower lip on

to awake an old thread, how is the fitment of the new WW front lip vs. the old one? my OEM front spoiler was coming off, so i removed it, bent it in half and tossed it in the trunk. dunno if i should still use it if i put the WW front spoiler on or just toss it.

oh, do i need the factory bolts? i already ordered a dozen of them from dali a while back but not sure where i put them. do i need to go locate them (if i dont put the OEM front lip back on?)

I'm the guy that wrote the article on a full Wings West Kit install that was published a while ago in the NSXCA newsletter NSXDriver. That article explains how to do it. In case you don't have access to a copy of it - the OEM bolts are not needed and actually can't be used to secure the WW front lip to the nose. It's easier to remove the OEM air dam before installing the WW front lip - the WW instructions tell you to remove it. You can download those instructions from the WW web site by the way. But if you read this very thread you can see that some have left it on, so that is apparently also possible but I personally don't recommend it.

I can't compare the new model lip to the old one as I never tried the old one, but from what I understand there was very little if any change to design of the lip (unlike the skirts).
