What do you guys think of this wheel on a slightly modified NSX?

I'm absolutely awe-struck!

Sexy. There is a yellow widebody NSX in Japan that wore those wheels. Given the budget I would go with Works wheels. Either this or the Meister S2R. Just love those step lips.

The yellow widebody you are referring to in Japan actually has the 2-piece version, without the rivets. Still a great looking wheel though. I have the 3-piece on my S2000 and they look nice. I'm sure it would look even better on an NSX!

Would you not agree that a larger wheel in general looks better than a smaller wheel?

What looks large is not always an actual larger wheel... certain thing make wheels look bigger or smaller than they really are.

Longer spokes make the entire wheel look bigger even if it is not. For example the 02+ factory wheel's spokes extend all the way to the far edge of the rim... and makes what is only a 17" wheel, look larger.

Also the curvature in the spokes can add length. An indented center with the spokes going out rather than in, makes them look longer, and the wheel bigger. Look at my avatar and just notice even in a small picture how large the rear wheel looks, when its only a 17.

I think it was Honda's desire to create this visual effect, because the NSX has smaller lighter wheels than the manhole covers you see now on most sports cars.

The wheel you have chosen, will look small. Because it is a 3 piece design, the rivets lay on the outer edge, and the 5 spokes end well short of the edge of the entire wheel. Also the curvature to the inside on the outer ends, does not help. This wheel, will "look" smaller than it really is. It is similar in effect to the 91 style 5 spoke wheel.

I think because the NSX uses smaller wheels, its important to get wheels that look large. If you are giving up weight savings and ride quality to go 18 or 19, it shouldn't look like its a 17.

Not trying to rain on your parade, its a nice wheel, I just think it will look small.

I completely agree with TURBO2GO. Those wheels are going to look much smaller than they really are. For example, Prodrive GC-07C wheels and Advan Model 5 wheels look much bigger than they really are because as TURBO2GO stated, the spokes are thin, curved, and extend to the outer edge of the wheel. To each their own, but if you're going for the larger wheel look, this wheel will not achieve it.

I agree too. When the wheels bow inward towards the lip and either have a stepped lip or big rivets, the wheels look smaller than they actually are.
Stepped lips make the biggest impacts IMO. Flat lips with concaved spokes or flat spokes make the wheels look bigger.

Those are some super sweet wheels though for maybe a drift car but I can't recall a "supercar" with similar wheels. Maybe if I saw those actual wheels on an NSX IN PERSON, I may change my mind though.

I thought that wheel looked a lot like the SSR Professor SP1 (these will look slightly larger than the Works, because the spokes bow into the lip, at the lip, as opposed to the rivets)

exactly... at least these go past the rivets. Look how far the factory 02 wheel spokes go... to the very edge of the wheel. Above the "rim" itself.

Yes, but would you not agree that a 3-picece wheel with a fat fip looks alot better than a one piece wheel?

Im aware of the long spoke / short spoke syndrom though. But if i have to choose, id take that fat stepped lip any day over some longer spokes.

But sure, Advan Model 5 is one of my favourites too.
But since its a one piece wheel, its not nerely as "raw-" and exclusive looking.

Here are some pics of Work Meister S1 3pc on other cars, I have seen the S1 1 or 2 pc 17/18 combo on a wide body Sorcery NSX, that looks amazing.

I think the coolest thing about these wheels is the color selection available, there are some sweet looking colors, The Work Meister S1 2pc with blue spokes at local superautobacs looks simply amazing.

I like the 1 pc the best, the spokes extends out a little more, best of both worlds.

I thought Lamborghini SV model have step lip wheels. The second Lambo in the photos looks sweet. Don't know waht kit the first one has.

Its personal taste. I think the fat lip thing is overdone these days. To me the trend is set by supercars, not rappers. Fat lips were the rage in 1980's amd early 90's supercars.

2 and 3 peice means heavy... All the new Ferrari's, Lamborghinis, Porsche Carrera GT, they all use one piece ultra light wheels. I think what looks "cool" on a car is something that is PERFORMANCE oriented. I am not sure the lightweight NSX especially is the car for fat lips... although I do not think they look bad... I have seen some nice ones here.

Can you name and serious factory super or exotic cars with fat lips and rivets?

You are confirming what I said... late 80's early/mid 90's... what current supercar has wheels with fat lips?
Well the NSX IS a late 80's early 90's design, so the stepped lip look do compliment the car very well.

Maybe on a NA2 I'd rather have a more "modern" wheel.
