Infineon Raceway
Aug, 19 2004 5:00pm

Bone Stock. my 04 nsx had 1000miles with breakin oil no mods
Here is whats on my time slip.

R/T: 269
60ft: 2.095
330ft: 5.715
1/8 mile: 8.683
MPH: 82.83
1000: 11.238
1/4: 13.407
MPH: 104.15

Now that i have installed my JGTC and I’m also about to change my Motor Oil.
Hopefully there are some HP gains that would be noticeable and drop the 1/4mile time. Will post the numbers when I do the run.

[email protected] MPH ...bone stock!!

...the fastest/quickest bone-stock 3.0L 1/4 mile time/speed I'm aware of.

I ran my car about a year ago at Sacramento Raceway and the temperature was around the mid 60's. I had a Comptech Exhaust at that time but just recently switched it out to an Anytime Borla Exhaust.
My signature has all my mods and my fastest time is:

Reaction: .802
I1 : 2.067
I2 : 5.714
I3 : 8.644
MPH (I3): 83.161
I4 : 11.141

E.T. : 13.258
MPH : 106.335

I weigh about 200 lbs and was running my car with the heavy Volk AV3 wheels. I did remove the spare tire.

Those are some very good numbers for a bone stock 04' NSX. Looking forward to going out with you next time you go to Infineon or Sacramento.

[email protected]. I'm sure I could have gotten in the high 12s if I had countered wheel hop. Had a best trap speed of over 108.

Then my clutch puked.

What level of mods were you at during this run...pretty impressive.

91 NSX with Comptech E/H/I, stock clutch, stock 5-spd, no spare tire, no tools…

1st run
13.179 @ 108.86 with a 60-foot time of 2.148

Final run of the night
13.030 @ 108.49 with a 60-foot time of 2.042

I have since installed a 6-spd but have not had time to take the car back to the track.

Fastest (106.1 trap), yes. I believe Sports Car International did a quicker run of 13.5 in their test of the 1991 NSX.

Those are very fast times and mph for only I/H/E. Do you still have your cats on your exhaust? Ever dyno your car? I bet you must be putting out around 275 hp to the rear wheels with those trap speed. Is the track that you ran it at below sea-level?

My 98 Coupe ran 12.58 @ 111.2 with Comtech I/H/E and Nitto Drag Radials.

Hey Dave,

What was your 0-60' times with the drag radials?

What size wheels and tires are you running?

What RPM's are you launching your car?

Do you still have the stock clutch?

Did you remove anything to lighten your car?

How much do you weight, if you don't mind me asking?

I am seriously impressed with your awesome times and mph. Great job!

Best 60' 1.86
Volk TE37 Wheels Front: 16x7 Rear: 16x8 with 225x50x16 Nitto Drag Radials
I dump the clutch at 3,000 RPM
I have a Comptech Clutch
I took out the spare tire, tools, mats, engine cover, and less than 1/4 tank of race gas.
I weigh 190, but I'm sure you mean the car, which weighed in at 2,890 (without driver) on the scales at raceway park.

I was thinking of going to our 1/8th mile track just for fun. It's like $10 bucks for the night.

How hard is it on the clutch to dump it at 3000rpm? I am going to dramatically reduce my clutch life? If so, I won't do it.

I figured you must have done a few things to lighten up the car and also had a feeling you were running lighter wheels in a smaller size because you need the sidewall flex of the drag radials to propel you to 1.8 sec. 0-60' times. As for your mph, I am thinking it is largely due to the race gas which is 100+ octane if I am not mistaken.
I did ask about how much you weight and not the car because a person who is around 150 lbs should be able to turn a faster time than a person weighing in at around 200 lbs. That is just light removing another spare tire.

Have you ever had your car dyno'd? I have heard of some pretty fast times from 97+ coupes and if I had a car like yours, I would be extremely satisfied. Great job!

Yes, drag racing will seriously reduce your clutch life, especially if you have a stock clutch. Think of it in a positive way. If you burn out your stock clutch, this gives you a good reason to upgrade sooner.

Well done... how many psi in the rear tyres?. You dont think you can rev more when you launch? 6-7000 rpm? or does that kill the grip in the Nittos? Have seen Stock Type S and Zero and Type R done high 12s

That depends.. if you race every 5 minutes the clutch will be very warm and wear out faster... wait at least 10 minutes between every run..

'91 I/E/H, short gears, CT r&P, CT PGII, Dali Chip:

all motor, street tires: 12.96@106

tried nitto drags and gained 1-2 10ths. also gained a broken axle.
the risk wasn't worth the reward.
currently dialing in a 75shot, hopefully will have respectable numbers next time out.
