Together with the CCU from the last post, four amplifiers (two subwoofer, two door amplifiers) arrived. All of them were in non-working condition, three had previous repairs done to them. It probably doesn't make much sense to describe each repair in detail so let's focus on the more interesting...

Please note that it might be sufficient to use Google Maps or any GPS based speed measuring device to check the accuracy of the cluster. If it's less than +7 mph off it's still in an acceptable range. The need for re-calibration normally comes up if the calibration pots have been touched before...

Unfortunately there is no standard fix but all parts that are still available can be ordered from digikey or mouser.

Technical spoken, it should be drivable. Besides some very basic logic functionality. The cluster is mostly a passive device that displays information and provides very little functionality on its own.

Usually around a few hundred Euro but the chances of success are roughly 50/50 (due to age and damage from capacitor leakage) and considering the costs for shipping/tax to and from the USA it's often uneconomical from outside the EU, to be truely honest ..

These adapter PCBs were readily available from eBay - no PCB design work this time 😉

By the way, the orange display of the NSX is created (at least on the radio) by a filter on top of a bright blue/green display.

The CCU is certainly special but I'm wondering if the Honda Prelude clock might have the same VFD display as the NSX clock?
