Howdy, so this time I had to do this as I have being waiting for YEARS on this, you all remember red 97 NSX, with my 02+ wheels - total LOVE- ....

I was very torn, with this new look (down bellow), and here proves my point, the 02+ NSX wheels are one of the most beautiful wheels ver made by Honda (BBS for Honda)

BUT, I came to an opportunity of moving to Advan 5's, and here are the results, I hope you like them:

SPECS:
Specs are:

Advan Model 5
Front: 17x8 - 215/40R17
Back: 18x8.5 - 265/35R18 - 25mm Spacers (HR Hubcentric)
Car is lowered on TEIN RA's 1.25 drop.

I am extremely happy with this setup and I don't think this wheels need to GunMetal as I was already decided to do.

Cheers NSX Maniacs!

Oscar

Oscar first of all, your car looks great. These are nice wheels, although I personally find the style a bit played out.

Don't forget your car almost won the entire red category with your 02 gunmetals. It was UNIQUE.

To me this wheel is good looking but not unique. They are probably a bit more flashy, and your eyes may have tired of your old wheel so this is a nice change. Also without a BBK, the 02 wheels hide more brakes than these do.

You've traded, in my eye, a bit of flash for a bit of harmony with the rest of the car. In the red contest your car was very unique. Now... It does look like a number of other modified NSX's to me that have a WW lip, R wing, and an aftermarket wheel.

Let's see how your poll turns out. I think if you want to keep the model 5's you should go gunmetal and BBK.

That's a tough one. I don't usually like the '02's over aftermarket wheels, but the gunmetal finish on yours looks awesome. The Advans really show the small brakes/rotors. I say keep them both and switch back and forth.
For me: Your gunmetal 02's then the Advans.

No way dude! You have to be crazy if you think you think Model 5's on an NSX is NOT unique. How many NSX owners have model 5's? Secondly, how many in Oscar's geographical region have model 5's? This design is VERY old, but a very classic look. Not many remain today, hence the demand of this wheel. Don't compare some threads here on Prime on the uniqueness of the Model 5, because they are still very rare!

Now back to Oscar's look.... This wheel looks AMAZING on the NSX. After comparing the gunmetal OEM's to the Model 5's, hands down (In my opinion), it' s not even close. Model 5's look KILLER. Such a wonderful contrast to the red and other black accents of the car. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the gunmetal wheels with the acura logo in red on the centercaps. Something about that look IMO looks a bit off and slightly too matchy matchy.

Synth maybe model 5's are rare but there are dozens of aftermarket double 5 spoke wheels out there. Silver is also the most common color on any wheel on any car. What other wheel looks like an 02 OEM wheel?

There might be wheels out there that look like Model 5's, but they sure ain't model 5's!

Just because "silver' is a common color, it doesn't mean its wrong or "played out." A classic look/design can never be "played out."

No other wheels look like '02's, but you have literally thousands of 2002 wheels out there vs. model 5's on an NSX. I actually preferred Oscar's 02's when they were silver.

"help me. I'm Oscar's brakes and I can't get anything to stop" :D

Thanks Synth, I waiting on this set for years indeed, and out of the 02+ this are the only wheels that could make me swap wheels, now every place I park people take photos, is CRAZY, and my Ferrari friends agreed the car looks much newer than before!

Are you trying to convince me to sell them to you?

I will keep my 02+ and we shall see, Indeed I agree, now I am screwed as a BBK would look S$$$$$$ICK on it!

So I came with a Solution, I will rock one side Advans, the other 02+!:biggrin::biggrin:

Red center caps, red caliper, red car... All tied in. Dark wing, dark wheels, Dark diffuser...

It worked for me.

+1.

the wheels in terms of design + classic silver finish look is as timeless as it gets. also not a fan in refinishing beautiful oem wheels in a diff color; but think that giving the advans wet gunmetal finish ala alas-nsx would look stunning.

oscar, what are the offsets of the front and rear wheels? you've stated that you are using a spacer in the rear but havnet stated what the offsets are for the wheels themselves.

i'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you're fronts are

17x8 +35 or
17x8 +45

??

I mean, dont get me wrong.. It looks good! But I preferred the silver wheels on his car.

Secondly, this entire "tie in" everything isn't necessarily the only way to do things.

Car looks KILLER Oscar!!!!! I mean, it looks freakin amazing!!

I would keep the Model 5's as is... and keep the 02+.

You can always go back. I have my gunmetal NSX-R wheels and my model 5's as well... which are getting refinished silver. Best of both worlds

haha. You say this now, but within a few weeks I'll be getting at least 10 PM's from you to help you choose a particular shade of silver for your next wheels!

LMAO!

Oscar the car looks so clean... and well perfect. You know my vote...

Yeah but I won't listen to you anyway. :D

Nxot1c you have anymore 17/18s for sale lol.

I agree bbk and it would be sickkkk

Wait a minute, are you suggesting that you are getting MORE attention with the Model 5's on the car now???? WHAT.

OMG. WTF.

These aren't even UNIQUE!

Maybe as unique as the 47 sets of Advan RSII's that are in the midst of being shipped out to NSX owners as we speak
