What model 1:18, is the best/detailed Maisto, Revell, Kyosho or another one ?
What other size is it available in ? (bigger)

Thanks

The kyosho has about the same detail underneath but the hood does not open. They make both fixed and pop up head light versions. The only flaw I noted was in the interior. It has three pedals (accelerator, break & clutch) but it has the automatic shifter in it (I doubt most people would ever notice). It is a right hand drive car with a body colored roof.

Kyosho 1:18 models have better detail than the Revell (and I believe Jouef). Can't speak for Maisto... not sure that they even make an NSX in 1:18.

Ebbro tops them all for detail IMO, but were until recently only available in 1:43 scale -- although now they have the NA2 (02+ body style) in 1:24 scale.

or 1:18 scale info at http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Memoabilia/models/118diecasts.htm

Of the three listed, Kyosho is definitely a step up from Maisto and Revell.

If you're talking about 1:18 NSX models, Maisto does not make an NSX (or in any other scale either).

Jouef also made a 1:18 NSX, but is out of production and was comparable in quality to the Revell.

Your options in scales bigger than 1:18 are the 1:12 model from Rosso and in 1:10 scale as an R/C car. Kyosho, HPI, and Tamiya are the most common in that field.

i have a Kyosho ... they are very nice.
the understeer is incredible ; wishbone suspension and everything!

what's the price difference between the kyosho and the others?

Kyoshos run about $40 - $50 depending on where purchased (ebay, online retailer, etc.). The Revell went as low as a little more than $10 when it was reissued at WalMarts last year. I haven't run across them in some time.

just picked up my red Ebbro 1:24 NSX-S. I would say the best NSX I have bought for awhile. Details superb and the workmanship, unfortunately this latest from Ebbro outclassed the Kyosho NSX R & S I already have. The Ebbro is not cheap here either as it retails over US$ 80. BTW, also bought the Minichamps 1:18 BMW 3.0 CSL art car. Another superb model but they do not make NSX. Come in its own display stand and box and literally weigh a ton !!:D

I picked up my red Kyosho model at Exoticar in Beverly Hills when it was on sale for $29.99 last year (sorry NeoNSX). All three colors offered (black, white and red) were on sale at that time. I must've stared at that thing everyday since.

As a side note, there was a beautiful girl (she was a car fan; she talked about how she liked her turbodiesel Beetle) working there then to whom I wrote a note--like a schoolboy--asking her to ride with me in the NSX up PCH someday. I guess she didn't take me seriously...she never called me back on this. I would like to think this is her loss. I think...

Anyone have pics of Ebbro 1:18?

The Ebbro premium looks awesome - where to buy is US? The Ebbro website listed a dealer(EWA) but their site says "soon taking pre-orders"

1. EWA is the exclusive Ebbro importer for the US.

2. The Jouef and the Revells were both made by Kyosho but not to the same level of detail as the actual Kyosho models.

3. The original Kyosho models (early 90s) command much higher prices than the current stuff often selling for over $200 each.

new 1:18 models from Exoticar

Just got their new catalog in the mail today... no pix on website yet.

#73140 1/18 2003 NSX (manufacturer unknown) in yellow or blue $24.95

#71173 1/18 Acura NSX (Dub-City -- r_cey bodykit and stickers): red or yellow $29.95

They also still carry the older (original) body style NSX-T in RED, by Kyosho (#8082 - $49.99).

That looks pretty interesting. I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

MuscleMachines makes a couple of other 1/18 scale diecast cars, an RSX and Skyline, under their Muscle Tuners line. Quality is average, nothing great, but nothing bad either. Cars are designed a littleover the top, with slightly exaggerated proportions in their wheel sizes & profiles, body kits, and ICE systems.

MuscleMachines also makes a small 1/64 (Hot Wheel sized) NSX. Their products are generally easy to find at larger retailers like Toys R Us, Target, WalMart, etc.
