VIN Numbers

Have you ever seen the first 3 characters of a VIN # a different font (I guess thats' what you'd call it) than the rest of the VIN #?

I'm looking at a daily driver and I noticed this when I looked at the VIN.

I've seen numbers in the VIN in a different font. Crazy looking 9s and 8s. I thought those NSX VINS were forgeries.
