ABS conversion

Any other source than DALI?

What the weight of the ABS pump?

The ABS system is easy enough to bypass as a DIY project. Just need to remove the hardware, bend a few hard lines and make the connections.

The ABS computer is easily fooled by a jumper at the pressure switch. While I haven't bypassed the solenoids: an appropriate resistor should work fine.

The weight of the system is probably 10-12kgs...

Cool news that the ABS replacement is really a complete replacement.

Thank ffffanman.
but I hear Chris say "you can get it for $800.00 from Acura deals that gives discounts to prime members".

MSRP here in America is $1005.00 with a 20% discount about $800.00.

Chris,

Are you saying your entire part list TOTAL's $1005? If so I need to know where you get your parts:), I cannot get ALL of those parts that cheap.

I go agree that the Canadian prices are way overpriced. They want $27 for a line we can get for $10.

Larry, No just the ABS Modulator Assy - 57110-SL0-Z03

i was quoted by Dali for about $1300 for all parts needed

now...i just need the money

Could you tell me...
where the plugs in the red and blue circles connect to?

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much.

The red plug goes into the new ABS Unit under the hood and white plugs you circled blue plugs into the orange plugs that your abs ECU is currently pluged into.. How that helped

cheers

Thank you nsxman2001.
It make me so clear.

Just checking part numbers.

Is the ABS Modulator assy different for USDM & JDM.

i've noticed different part numbers;

USDM 57110-SL0-Z03
JDM 57110-SL0-N21

Anyone shed any light on this?

thanks

NSX man 2001 did the NA2 abs conversion it very simple once you have all the parts need.
which is

1) 00 or newer abs unit
2) abs brake lines
3) bracket that holds abs unit to car
4) wire harness from Gt-rom
5) time and patients
6) brake bleeders or second person

where do I go to get these parts? I am looking to also complete an ABS conversion, if it is more efficent for earlier braking on less than perfect road conditions.

Has anyone seen the 2002 Nsx Abs pump on ebay? Item number:180147011167 perfect chance to pick this up for your abs upgrade project.Pump is half the price and could probably get it for less then the asking price.. Good luck

As a recent conversion price confirmation: Your local Acura dealer offering 20% off will run you $1120 including tax, add in that $345 harness, total is $1465. Almost all of the parts are on B/O so it might take a heck of a long time to get them all. Without more research I can't say for sure, but the harness may not be needed. Thats a lot of money for a few connectors.

Just read that you have done the ABS conversion on your NSX.

Would you like to comment on how it performs compared to the old system?
Am very curious about the difference in braking distance and other differences you might have noticed with the newer ABS system.

If you can source the main connector to the ABS module then yes it's not necessary. From what I have read, it's difficult to source the connector.

AK,

You can help me with my conversion this winter, I have the GT-One ABS harness. I think Henry for GT-One has one harness left in stock, I had to wait abou 4 months to get mine.

1) when you engage the brake hard the unit pumps alot faster then the older unit so the tires don't lockup.

2) it weights less than the older unit.

3) much easier to bleed the system.

4} less likely to malfunction because of its design.

Glad to know this conversion works! I think I'm going to do this conversion also.

I've seen a mercedes abs unit and it looks awefully like our na2 abs unit. I wonder if all the abs unit are the same?

Henry.

got a newer unit sitting here in my room for the last 4 months just need to order the harness as its going on a rhd
looks like thats al i need

thx amo

Have about 60% of the parts so far and have a few questions for those that been there. SOS lists a couple of parts: a grommet and a brake pipe clip that are not on our parts list. Anyone have part numbers please? The old proportioning valve handles the clutch lines also, how is this handled as the new prop valve does not? Are the fail safe relays still in play? ALB motor relay I assume is not? (got to rid of undeeded heavy relays-he-he). FYI the modulator bracket and the brake lines look like they may take a while to get. Looks to me like we might be saving a couple more pounds than thought, the abs ecu weighs a couple of pounds too. I'll report an exact savings when I get all the brackets. I don't imagine anyone has gotten manuals on line, do they? I hate to buy a whole late model manual just for the data on the abs. Thanks!

Hi there,

I was wondering, now you've have been driving your NSX with the ABS upgrade, how you do feel it compares with the original ABS system.

Does is shorten your brake distances in a measurable way?

The only differance so far is shorter reaction time. The unit pumps much faster allowing u to stop faster without skidding or having the wheels lockup.
