Finally made a GoPro video

car sounds goood

Video looks a little sped up to me... but cool nonetheless.

This is true. The video is sped up at points to match the music, get past traffic/idle parts. I'd never drive that fast on a highway with that many cars. I never was full throttle.

What kind of go pro mount were you using? I have the suction type and it sounds horrible and you can barely hear my car cause it shakes and rattle.

I have the HD Hero 2 w/ the new suction cup that comes with the hero 2 (way better than the old version). It rattled a bit, and you can hear it slightly but it's very good. I might go with a bar mount since I have the harness bar, but this is good so far.

The suction mount that comes with the Hero2 is substantially better than everything else I have, including a Hama mount, which rattles a lot.

Nsx is so fun to watch on YouTube, my wife thinks im obsessed and crazy
,lol

Here is another one:

http://youtu.be/fw-Xrcs_i3Y?hd=1

I shot this one in 1080p, 30fps. The color is much nicer and I did a lot less post processing. Between the two, I think the color looks much sharper/better contrast. I also used an external mic with "wind filter" -- the mic muffled not only the wind but also the engine noise. The car is MUCH louder in person. See what you think.

I'm all about having fun in my car and certainly take it through the gears often, but how is it in this thread it's nothing but praises and positive comments about a member ripping around on public roads and then you have a thread like this with some guys having fun in an empty parking lot and it's nothing but negative comments... Am I missing something here?

Great sounding car btw

Post #5 clarified that the OP wasn't ripping around on public roads.

Then this is definitely the weirdest track I've ever seen ... Did you not see the second video? Pretty sure the other cars arent purposely driving 20mph below the speed limit. And I think some people would agree that weaving in and out of lanes, not signaling, changing lanes in an intersection etc. would be considered aggressive. I'm by no means innocent as far as driving goes, I'm just pointing out the inconsistency in this forum, seem like some people get bashed for doing less then someone else. We are all here because of our common interest in the NSX so lets try to be fair to everyone (especially the newer guys like myself)

Sweet video :) I'm gonna do a cruising vid this summer in downtown chicago :D

No, actually I didn't see the second video until now. I completely agree with you, it's completely unacceptable. In my opinion, the OP should lose his license for acting like this on a public street.

Video tricks my friend. The video is sped up at different rates at different parts. The fact that it feels like I am going crazy fast is the point... but I'm not. The original video would bore you to death.

If you go back and watch the second video, you can see a prius and a corolla pulling away from me at parts. I appreciate your genuine concern

8000 RPM in 2nd is still pretty darn fast. Also is your speedometer broken? I can see the tach needle move but the speedometer seems stuck in one position. At least that is what it looks like.

That said, I'm also using a Hero 2 mounted on the back glass, but the view out the window is very washed out during daytime. I'm also set at 1080/30 frames on a medium width. Maybe I'll try and move the camera further forward so the auto iris can set more on the lighting through the windshield instead of the darker interior.

I wanted to try using an external mic with the mic placed in the back glass hatch on the engine cover. I think it may pic up much better engine and exhaust noises there.

Try filing at 170º Wide FOV 1080p for best results. The gopro doesn't handle the contrast of the all black interior and super light exterior very well (washing out the exterior more than if you had the camera further up (such as on your head) -- i made a video like that once. Pretty cool actually.

I've recently bought a Hero 2.

It's cool and takes a beating :D. It fell off my snowboard and was riding on it down the slope haha.

They are rubbish at night though!
