Where are all the Production deliveries ??

Very weak sales. Only a tweaking of it's looks and power can help this poor thing.

I would think that the way it is going, we could see low teen and possibly single digit monthly sales in the winter.

There will be no changes to the 18 MY car so any improvement in sales will likely need to be stimulated by some influencer who says you can't live without one. OK, since that event is not in sight, more crappy sales number should be expected.

The good news from all this is the new NSX will be a secret, super rare care that only few will have at car shows. We love the car for it's many positive attributes.

Ferrari and Lambo / McLaren are dime a dozen around here.

NSX = super rare best kept secret!

I don't think so. A tweaking of the price will help. I happen to like the looks of the car. Would I like to see more power? Sure, we all would!

Honestly I am not sure what it would take to increase sales other than some fairly radical and costly changes such as:
- emphasize the hybrid/electric aspect
- increase the interior quality (not sure that would really make a difference though)
- drop the cost dramatically to around $120 MSRP

I don't see any of that happening though which means sales will probably hover around the 200-300 per year mark at best.

Saw a red NSX on freeway the other day and followed it briefly on freeway. I think it is Matt's NSX, it look like it had spacers on stock ride height. It looks so amazingly good on the road with awesome presence. Made me went home and took it out next two days.

Let wife drove NSX yesterday, she absolutely loved it. She said the car feels so light and go cart like, all smiles on her face.

For me the top 2 dislike about the car since owning it is there is got to be transmission software issue. The car in manual mode, just doesn't downshift fast enough. Cruising in 9th gear while traveling 65 mile per hour. Rapid down shift and punch it at the same time, it feels like there is 1.5 second delay until car goes. Only way to overcome this one must down shift first be in the right gear before pedal to the floor. My 570S doesn't do this, it is just instant, whenever I want, it just does what my mind wants it to do.

The other dislike is it just doesn't satisfy my inner shallowness, this is not Honda/Acura's fault. Most general public only recognize 3 brands in super cars: Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren

↑↑↑ Brand recognition I agree.....At a cars & coffee type event last weekend, probably 50 911's in a row, old & new - at first glance they all pretty much look the same.

My experience on the road though is entirely different - people seem to know the Porsche Turbo's ( all years) + what they're capable of.

The original NSX's developed a solid reputation over the years.....good luck with that on the new one. All most can say is they're new and that's about it.

oooh, that's harsh! :highly_amused:

it just isn't, and will never be, as raw, emotional and visceral as those cars...

9 speeds is too many. :(

Just to be clear, I want one BAD..and I will probably get flamed for comment below, but at the end of the day we are talking about a $200K car that is trying to garner super car status after being away for 12 years and now you have a Dodge Demon with 800hp for 1/2 the monies...JM2C

Problem 1, when it was released in 91 the whole world stood up and took notice and you had people standing in line to pay double the MSRP. The 2nd Gen is like BTDT, take away (3) electric motors and you are talking a 500hp forced induction car at $200k...FWIW

Even when in Sport+ or Track Modes? Agree that "Sport" shift logic is lazy--- and it's shy about the EV boost also. My solution would be to allow an "Individual" mode, where you can separately specify all the parameters of the car: steering, suspension, throttle map, shift logic, exhaust, and EV objective (sporty versus eco). Basically take a page out of the BMW M playbook. It adds complexity--- but only if you want it. You could even hide this mode unless you enable it via a deep submenu to keep the simplicity of the big mode dial for people who don't want to tweak settings.....

The cheap horsepower thing will always be there

The same company that brings you a DeathCat will sell you an 812 Superfast at a multiple well above 2

That is apples to oranges. If you want high Horsepower, there are plenty of options out there.

The top 5 things killing the NSX are:

#1 - Porsche 911. Outstanding car that has a fancy badge on the front.
#2 - Porsche 911
#3 - Porsche 911
#4 - Audi R8. V10 vs V6 and Audi has established itself as a stronger brand over the past 10 years which gives them an additional edge.
#5 - C7 Corvette. One of the best vettes in recent years

I personally see nothing wrong with it's price. (A better quality interior would also be another great update.)

On the interior point, a 570GT may look great. A dealer had one on display at a cars and coffee event today, and the only thing that was better than an NSX is that the plates around the window switches were in CF. The center stack looks pretty cheap, the leather did not feel as nice and the interior didn't appear any where near as roomy.

The leather seats in Mclaren are not very good IMO, but the Alcantara seats are bomb and wears far better. Despite the look, the 570GT can accommodate a 6 foot 5 driver no problem.

Your logic is kinda odd. It has the 3 electric motors and is one of the 4 hyper car available today. Acura just left too much performance on the table, they really could had gave it 650~700hp and make it a new bench mark for super cars.

The NSX drive like a much lighter version of original NSX and will absolutely destroy Demon or any C7 Z06 off the line on street situations.

That is the point, and we wonder why sales are abysmal....
I guess the question would be, how do you leave performance on the table?

By prioritizing rock- solid reliability with zero overheating issues? (Just guessing. CTR engine does 160 HP/L, does it not? And there are multiple resorts of overheating at track days engaging safety mode. NSX 3.5 at same specific output would have 60 more HP. With no changes to 2018, perhaps Honda will have enough testing time for the 2019 model to get an extra hundred HP or two...)
