As the title states, I am a big German fan having had or have 11 AMG's, 9 M's, 8 Porsches, 2 Ferraris, Bentley, Jag, Lambo, and few other choice cars over the past 10 years. This is my first Acura and first Asian performance car since my 2009 Nissan GTR. I just picked it up last week and so far, so great with its excellent road feel, chassis flex, throttle response, and strong acceleration up to and past 125 mph.

Is it the fastest ever for me, no but I didnt buy it for pure straight line speed. I needmore time to get acclimated before I cant truly give it feedback vs my current fleet and prior rides but thus far its made me smile.

I do have some mods planned at this time:

1. Quicksilver HFC's
2. Black out the silver parts
3. Maybe lower- weird how the car is so low in the front with the cowl but has excessive wheel gap
4. Spacers since Im keeping the OEM wheels- they are too inward.
5. Tint--- maybe.

Some pics of the basic white and fairly popular red/black interior by my house where the fires hit a year ago. Sorry for the cell phone shots.

Awesome. Great pick up. Will be interested to hear your thoughts on the NSX in comparison to your other past cars.

A few thoughts of my own...

Yes to tint. Looks meaner after.

Aftermarket downpipes with hi-flow cats are a must for the NSX. Completely transforms the sound of the car. Most go with SoS, but I went with Fabspeed, as SoS was backordered 10 weeks when I got my car.

Clear bra is a must also. Soft paint on the NSX, and many have gotten cracked windshields also.

The NSX owners private facebook page is a wealth of knowledge. PM me if you haven't been contacted yet to join.

Congrats again!

With regards to mods:
1) +1.
2) +1.
3) +1. I would strongly consider the iLift system, as this would lower and raise your car as needed. I wish the car had this option from the factory.
4) +1.

Also, there's rumor that a tune is around the corner, but no specs/timeframe are known at this time. Hopefully, it becomes available soon and gives the NSX the long awaited mod many of us have been craving for.

Thanks for all of this, I need to definitely do the clear bra and will now do the tint probably in 30%? For some reason I have not felt the need for tint in this car whereas in all my others I had them done within week 1. I hit up SoS but my local contact got me almost 30% of Quicksilver so I went with it based on the sound clips and other anecdotal feedback.

Beautiful car! Keep us posted on you upgrades. And a second yes for tint and clear bra. Before and after pics with spacers would be nice to see.

Will do and thank you.

I appreciated the first warm welcome and gratitude here. What are your suggests for a lowering option if I dont go with the iLift? I really have great roads here and even my 991.1 GT3 which was one of the lowest never got scraped up.

Can't go wrong with white/red.

I agree and while its a bit regular these days, boy I like regular :)

Thanks guys for the comments- I tried to post a reply with quotes but it has to be reviewed....

edit now i see they are all deleted- weird

@NSX Prime

can you help??

Thanks, Im considering 30% tint and DP's are on their way. I looked into SoS but my deal with Quicksilver and my retailer was too good to pass up. My wrap guy just did the rear reflectors, door handles, and front grill. He also did the badges in black via plasti dip. Ill post pics when I drive the car again.

Ill get the spacers on when we install the DP's--- I think that should make the eye sore gap a little less painful.

Congrats again!

I think the iLift is a cool thing- just not sure if Im going to lower. Has anyone just done a fixed process like H&R (they drop the car 1 inch square)?

Its so cliche these days and I love cliche :)

Mods

Many of us are reluctant to mod our cars. I have tuned several turbo vehicles and imo factory tunes run much smoother (plus safer) overall. My personal formula =Horsepower left on the table and smooth drive-ability wins out (factory tune) UNLESS my vehicle needs more power. If my vehicle needs more power I will have it tuned and while a little rough around the edges that's ok I have my power. My NSX does not make me feel like I have to tune it to satisfy my performance urges. I will probably never mod or tune it. I could possible modify the exhaust as I feel like I might need some more bass. I may also modify the subwoofer...............

Hello

What a list of cars you have owned! I am just getting into the good stuff these last 7 or 8 years but nothing exotic. Glad to see you appreciate the NSX. I Love my NSX and plan on keeping it for however long I stick around in this world. When I see ones such as yourself buying this car and telling the world it reinforces what I already know and that is the NSX is a special car. This car puts down power like NOTHING I have ever driven and it's SO smooth while doing it, I am hooked. When I want tire shredding I drive my Corvettes!

Thanks for the reply... why is this platform so sleepy when it comes to ECU mod(s)? I get that the car is limited in sales and production but is the demand just not there for the gains or is the ECU hard to crack?

Two reasons...

1. The ecu has been unable to be cracked thus far.
2. Since the NSX is a hybrid, the ecu controls both the engine and hybrid drivetrains, and mates them together seamlessly. When and if the the ecu is cracked, it will be very difficult to increase power to both sides of the driveline seamlessly.

This has been discussed at length on the NSX owner's fb page, FYI.

Makes sense, thanks....

fyi I havent had FB since 2009 and dont expect to go back :)

I've never had a fb account. I use my wife's to view the NSX owner page and that's it.

Nice pickup, congrats!

We are doing a lot of new CF parts for this car platform so check our site :)

Red/white is how our 2004 GPW shop car is done and it never gets old, timeless color choice!

@Axxlrod

Insta is all I have- easier as I get older LOL. Ive got about 100 miles on the car now in the past 2 weeks (I know not a lot) with some quality driving at higher speeds and big bends and sharp turns- thoughts:

  1. I love the throttle response from a roll and leaving turns in track mode- its lag free and the car just moves thru the rpm ranges
  2. Higher speeds come pretty fast and Im hoping with the HFC's and the hp gain, it will get there just a bit quicker (still very quick)
  3. Handling is on point for a 3800 lb plus car- the mag ride is great but the Contis could be changed up. Its not as balanced as the 991.2 GTS I have but then that car is 450 lbs lighter
  4. Braking doesnt bite like my other cars I have or have had; it requires a more firm push. Not a big issue but something I noticed.
  5. The tech in the cabin is a bit slow with screen by screen advancement and the touch screen. Also when I use the Nav is there a way to see what song is playing via the center MFD or do I have to swap out the Map screen for audio?
  6. Overall, its still early so my excitement is definitely piqued. Its a great looking car with driveability to match.

The Continental tires are big complaint. They are downright dangerous. I lose the rear quite regularly, which does not instill confidence. Will switch to Michelin PS4 soon.

Had the rear and front badges blacked out---along with that nasty chrome strip on the front brow:
